Howdy All. Long time rider; once-in-a-while lurker; decided to hop on and say hi.
Live near Annapolis, Md; looking forward to having all the bloody snow melt away, the salt, ash and grit wash away so I can get back out there...........

Have a number of bikes, looking to get rid of them and get one all-round bike......that won't kill my old bod.....

welcome, Badback. I grew up (well, spend a good bit of my life) in MD, over in Columbia, and most of the family's still there - one of these days I need to get back up during riding season.

Wow, a golf player. Doesn't get much more impressive than that.
Or how about this: I'm sorry to hear that.

Hello,
My name is Michael and I have been lurking here for a while but this is my first post. Love the sight and all the info I have read. The road reports are my favorite though my employer would be thrilled if I had never found this place  Lol

I have been riding in my adult life for about 9 years. In the last year or so the whole idea of touring on a bike has grown into an obsession. I have some multiday trips planned for this season and some week long ones for next year. The ultimate goal (for now) is to ride down to La Paz Baja in 2012 for my 45th birthday.

My wife got her MC licence last year and is a very enthusiastic rider and with some saddle time will be my partner in crime on these rides. We will post ride reports in the future.

Thanks for all of the good stories and inspiration I have received from this community.

Hi Guys... just joined.

I'm Ernie, I live in So.Cal. Been riding for about 30 or more years, altough I've ridden mostly sports bikes and naked bikes, I have owned a Gold Wing Aspencade in the early 80's, tried to get my wife to ride with me, one ride and she quit.... So... I ride mostly alone. I've also done lots of enduros and now ride an ATC 250R three wheeler in the sand dunes of Glamis, CA. Old Skool... LOL

I'm in the market for a Kawasaki Concours, or a Yamaha Fjr1300, I'd love to see a Honda ST, but they are not too many out there and don't know anyone that owns one. Although I've always been partial to Honda's as my first choice, but have owned yamaha's and Kawis.

I've owned maybe about a dozen bikes, I've also helped my buddies in the old days turning Triumphs into choppers.

I do most of my own work, I currently have a 2005 Buell XB12S Lightning, its a naked bike, I've done some computer work on it and it's a screamer. Too bad that I'll have to sell it to buy my Sports Tourer, but with a part time job doing IT consulting and out of work for about 2 years I need to watch what I do with my money....

Love the low price I pay for insurance.... Smile

Welcome lurker Dave.

Im just north from you in central Ma. I only work weekends and am always looking for someone to meet for breakfast and then a hundred or so miles after that during the week. See you when the weather gets better (July?).

For the record, your GS 450 was every bit a real motorcycle Thumbsup

Cool! Does this mean my 77 GS400 is a real bike, too?
