I've decided on the Garmin Etrex Legend Cx, but in my research noticed that they will be coming out with a HCX model next month. Supposedly the new model has a more sensitive chip for when under deep cover or between tall buildings or mountains.
Do any of you who use the Etrex Legend or Vista have problems losing the signal with these models?

Yes, but so far, only in my truck, lost signal a couple of times driving from coastal Va to Deals Gap, sometimes on wide open highways. No problems when on a motorcycle so far other than a weird top speed reading (151??? Yes I can, but no I don't!)

His bike - 2000 Hayabusa (because it's important to have the speedo that reads 220 MPH...)
Her bike - 2005 CBR600F4i (I'm not even allowed on it, but I'm supposed to change it's oil)

I've had no problems with hanging on to a signal so far, and I've used my eTrex over much of the country. The biggest problem I've had with it is that the rounting seems much slower in large urban areas (eastern Long Island, for example). I guess a unit that small doesn't have as much processing power. For me, it's not that big of a deal. I tend to avoid those places whenever possible...

In deep woods I've sometimes lost the signal on my old Vista. Only once in a while in a city with tall buildings (I stay away from those mostly). It's slightly slower to acquire when inside a car, but no trouble in a tankbag or pocket.
I like my old one and I'll keep it, but better reception is always good. If you can afford the price difference, I'd go for the new one.
