I'm originally from Fort Dodge.  Any other Hawkeyes or ex-Hawkeyes here?

Do Western Iowans consider themselves Hawkeyes?  Or little red tornados? Twofinger

Small world indeed.  My wife's sister and her family live in Boone.  She's a pharmacist at Medicap.

Oh, and as far as ISU.  The basketball asst coach who got nailed for child porn, Randy Brown...maybe I shouldn't admit this, but I went to school and played basketball with him.  He blew it.  Probably would have inherited the program after Eustacy's fall from grace.

Ironically, a kid I coached in basketball from age 9 to highschool committed to ISU.  Craig Brackins...http://www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/brackinsverbal.html

Here's a pic of my 15U AAU team.

I am on the far right and Craig is next to me.  He was 14 at the time and 6'5".  All but 3 of the kids in the pic have gone on to play college ball.  The kid in the bottom row with the red shirt on, Andre Crenshaw, is a running back with the Oregon Ducks.  I have always kidded the kids I coached about 'my tickets' if they make it to the 'bigs'.  Well, I just might get some from Craig or Andre...

Sure is...where are you located now?
My parents are both from Fort Dodge.  One of my grandpas worked at the labs and played in a band up there, and the other worked for the USPS there, then moved to Des Moines.  Both my great grandfathers owned auto repair shops in Fort Dodge.

I'm out in Valencia, CA.  We've been here since '85.  I left FD in 1977 to join the Air Force.  Still have all my family back there.  My wife is from there also.  My step-mom worked at the labs until her retirement a couple years ago.

How old are you?  I'm 48.  Send me a PM with some last names.  Just wondering if I know some of these people.

Spent most of m'life in Bettendorf. Grew up loving the Hawkeyes, then went to ISU. Now I root for the Cyclones and any team who's playing against the Hawkeyes.  There were some decent basketball players when I went there (87-92), a few made the big time.
