Better watch your manners up there; they still have the gallows in Downieville:

What great roads up around there, I miss them.
Went to UC Davis, rode my bike 20k miles per year (ahhh, college, 4 day weekends, summer off...)

Anyway, probably some local dude, maybe firefighter, hoping to make m/c's aware of how challenging the road is ahead.

Tell the truth Stu... That sign is right outside the entrance to your new house up there. And if I know you....you took the pictures of the gallows with the idea that it was another way to generate retirement income!

The new place is off Fiddletown Rd about 10 miles off Hwy 88.

And the sign is on 49 about a 1/2 mile south of 89.
