Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm looking for a set of Metzler Z6 for my Ducati ST3.

swmototires.com

I've had very good service and found excellent pricing here. Lately I buy from my dealer as they will match online pricing if I bring in a printout..

I'm not happy with the Pilot Roads that came on my ST3 - way too little grip. I was pondering the new Avon AV55/56's. How do you like the Metzlers? Performance? Mileage?

+1 for www.swmototires.com .  Competitive pricing, good selection, free (when you buy a set) shipping which typically makes it to my door 3 business days after ordering...

swmototires.com is AWESOME. I've bought my last 4 or 5 sets of tires from them. Free shipping on orders of 2 or more tires, and it's NEVER taken more than 4 days to get to me (usually 2 or 3).

I'm also running my ST3 with OEM tires right now.  Was considering the Avon AV55/56 but decided on the Metzlers based on various internet reviews and threads.

Another vote for swmototires. I've picked up my last 2 sets at thier store, as I live in the same city. The owner was very helpful
and knowledgable. I'll buy from them again.

I had good luck with http://www.ridedirect.com/.  Free shipping there as well, as long as the order is more than $200, I think.  If you don't find what you want at SWMototires, try them out.

I quit buying them online when I asked my dealer if they'd get their price in the ballpark.  I don't mind paying a little bit more to keep the business local.  So I'd look up your best price and then talk to the local dealer first.

Just placed my order through them--will report back if all goes well (or if all does not for that matter).

Thanks for the tip.

Checked earlier--they didn't seem to carry the Metlers I was looking for.

I've always had great luck with swmototire, but has anyone dealt with http://www.americanmototire.com/??  They carry a few tires that SWMT doesn't.

I've had good luck with www.tireexpress.com.  Shipping is prompt and either free or very cheap.  They do not carry Metzler or Pirelli, though.  To put it bluntly, I've never seen anyone match their prices, although the diff with other places is fairly small (about 5%).

Another +1 for swmototires.  I've ordered from them twice (Z6 for the Bandit and RoadATTACK!!!!!111 for the Strom) and in both cases the orders were at my door in a couple of days.

Just make sure to do the math on installation cost before you buy.  I don't have the gear to put tires on myself, and if I'd had to take the new tires to a dealer, it would have ended up costing quite a bit more.  Luckily a fellow ST-N'er installed them for me for free.  Thumbsup

I ordered my Z6 from Dennis Kirk... now before you say anything know this - Dennis Kirk will price match from any website.  Obviously their online prices and catalog prices are pretty crappy to start with.

I'm a cheap SOB and the lowest price I found the Z6 was at parts411.com.  The 180/55-17 is only $120.04.  Why not order from parts411.com?  They sometimes aren't the best at expediting their orders whereas Dennis Kirk has ALWAYS been great.  Called up Dennis Kirk and gave them the site - the guy looked it up while I was on the line and voila - order was placed.  Being that I'm in IL and DK is in MN also helps get it to me quick.

I have also ordered from swmototires.com before and they do get their orders out quick too.

Sport Tour Ltd in Cincinnati has great prices online.  If you call Glen I found buying multiple items at same time - he'll cut you a break on some things- off his already great prices.  Has always treated me right.

Bought this year: Pirelli Diablo Strada Tires- Tour Master jacket- Power Commander- Sargent Seat- Givi Case.

Only other place I shop is the local Cycle Gear- the Walmart of cycle stores.
