Columbus, Ohio just picked up a new Triumph Dealer.  The BMW, Ducati dealer recently added Triumphs to their store.  Now we have two Triumph dealers within a 25 mile radius.  Very nice.  I stopped in to see them, to check things out and hopefully see an 07 Sprint.  I need to compare my Sprint after the handle bar kit install to an 07, there are a few things I need to do to clean the cable routing up and wanted to she how Triumph did the 07's.

The salesman told me there are no 07 Sprints to be had.  They are all spoken for, they will have to wait for the 08's which will be in early release in August.  They also could only get 1 Daytona 675 and it came from a Traveling road show not in a crate from the factory.

I know I had heard that Triumph makes small runs of product but it also sounds like they cannot keep up with demand?   Headscratch

Has anyone heard anything about this?  Headscratch

Not really. Go to Detroit Triumph and they have three 07's on the floor. Its different from dealer to dealer like anyone else.

Triumph sales continue to grow year on year. They pretty much sell everything they can make. Some dealers get stuck with models that don't sell well in their region, but overall, Triumph is kicking ass and taking names. Steady repeatable growth year on year.

They seem to be selling a whole lot of 675s around here.  I rarely saw another TT600 when I had one, but I saw three out on the road yesterday, not including my own.  The people who are buing them seem to be a different demographic from the usual Triumph rider, too.  I hope they don't drive up our insurance rates, but it is good to see that younger people who once would have asked if Kawasaki makes Triumphs are now buying them.

Depends on region seems like. Some parts of the country sell a lot of Rocket IIIs and the Bonney variants, others sell a lot of 675/Speed Triples and Tigers. As Gaolee put it the 675s are selling very well here in Seattle as are the Tigers, Sprints, and Speed Triples. You still don't see many on the road though.

When you look at the state of the Detroit economy, that doesn't surprise me.  When you can't give houses away b/c of so many job losses, people are not very willing to buy new motorcycles imho. Sad

Um, DT is selling them even with the poor economy so they say. They used to stock nothing but since the new location, they do more to accommodate the buyer. BTW, your economy isn't that much better.

Myers in Asheville NC reports that it is out of 2006 AND 2007 models at this point.  I think the shop in Charlotte has a couple 2007 Sprints, but no 06 models.  Daytonas seem to trickle in one by one, mostly when ordered.

Most mfg's require that dealers place their orders in the fall/winter for the year.  So, if a dealer sells out it is often difficult for them to get additional bikes.

You are right on on the economy, houses are moving real slow down here also.  In our case central Ohio is just over built with new homes and there is probably 5 houses on the market for every buyer.  At least my wife and I aren't planning to sell for three years or so.

I'm not trying to pick on Detroit, just seems that with all the auto related problems there, the luxury of owning a motorcycle would take a back seat to more pressing problems. Sad

I saw another 675 this morning.  There have always been a larger number of Triumphs out here for some reason, but I don't recall ever seeing so many of the same Triumph in the wild.

The 675 has received absolutely stellar press. I'm sure they're sold as soon as they show up at the dealers.

I just got back from a quick trip through OR,UT,ID,WY and never saw another Triumph on the road.  Lots of Harleys and clones, with guys who looked like Dennis Hopper.

Some of them waved.
