Had a great ride on what may be the last hot day of the summer.  Met the alpahbetman in Moyie for some Chish and Fips.  A nice ride all around though I missed the ferry from Crawford Bay to Balfour on my ride home and had to wait over an hour and twenty minutes. Also the slowest ride ever from Balfour to Nelson .. ugh I really hate that road. DH1 along the lake was awesome though with no traffic at all and the Triumph was handling beautifully !  Nice ride of just over 400 km. No puckers and no police ... lots, I mean lots of dead skunks though. I must have seen about 8 today  Headscratch ... what is that about ???

Note: Kootenay Pass is being paved on this side and there are the usual bumps, new pavement and grooved areas. Terrible signage too.

Forgot to get a pic of the Triumphs in front of the old pub in Moyie.  Worst coffee of all time btw but pretty good lunch.

On the way back I did a high speed pass of a long line of cars and trucks on the big straight just east of Creston. I was shocked when I checked the GPS upon arriving home. Surely this must be wrong ... I didn't go that fast ... nah  ... no way!! Just goes to show they are not always accurate as I doubt I went any faster than about 200. Would not be good to be stopped by a GPS savvy Mountie !!  ... BTW  the moving average is low because I left the GPS on during the 35 min ferry crossing at 22 kmh.  Rolleyes

A nice but cool moment on Kootenay Pass at about 1C earlier this morning with me all a shiver in my perfed gear and my electric vest left on my work bench at home ...  Lol

Nice!   Thumbsup

One other question...  Most of the places I have mail-ordered stuff from over the years will not ship to an address different from the one that is the billing address on the credit card you're paying for the goods with.  How do you get around that little fact when ordering goods shipped to an address across the border?
You can add an alternate shipping address to your credit card (phone your cc company). Then  when ordering stuff ask them to confirm with cc company, that way they know your cc hasn't been stolen.

Managed about an hour ride this morning. Headed out early as rain is forecast by mid morning. Over the Bombi there was light rain mixed with snow and about +1. A good shakedown for my cold weather gear. I was toasty thanks to heated vest and layers. Still wore my perfed leather though with xcountry ski pants underneath. Works pretty good except around the crotch  EEK! ... lol but I won't get into that !

Salmo to Nelson then Castlegar up to Syringa as it was dry here and now home. If I add my Cordura over my leather I should be toasty to ride out to Kookanusa next weekend. So long as it does not snow.

I was riding a slightly different machine this weekend.  A classic...1966 (I think) John Deere 350 crawler-loader.  Doing some work on the property.

Oh, and I may be riding something else again soon!  Neighbour is keeping some horses at my place for the winter at least (the reason for the "landscaping") Smile  This is gonna be a learning experience for me...
