The owner regaled me with stories of his interactions with the head of the Hell's Angels when they stayed there for their meet (!) earlier this summer. The Banditos were hanging just outside town and a beating/stabbing ensued. He 'hid' the HA honcho and his bodyguards, closing the hotel and turning off all the lights.

Maybe we could time the next ST.N National to coincide with the Hell's Angels Meet.  Wouldn't that be exciting?!?!  Hey, we could even have "Room Buddies".  One ST.N'er and one HA in each room.  Imagine the stories (and photos).   Lol

Cheers,

Joe

Ya, that would be great.  Especially since I could show off my new tattoo to my Room Buddy.  I bet any HA would be impressed.

They'd ask you who's bike you rode on the back of to get there too.

We stayed at the Trails Inn this July.  It's two doors down from the travelers.  Our room was cleaner and it was $42 plus tax without any kind of group rate.  I don't know if it's large enough to handle everyone.

I've never stayed at this place, but awesome roads connect to Jasper from every direction.  It's a dry county.

Maybe it was my bad luck but the room I had at the travelers sucked! water leaking all over the bath floor, the toilet didn't work well, big stains on bed, and worst of all I,m pretty sure someone had pissed on the floor, it reeked. Thumbsdown just my 2 cents.  bete.

not to mention the obnoxious couple you had next door.  Wink

While I was way up in front drinking beer in the parking lot, my wife was trying to sleep.  She said the HD rider next door made more fake noises while getting the big O than any cheesy seventies porn movie.  Then there was a loud buzzing noise for a few minutes.
This is the guy who had real problems with the shirt I wore Saturday, and mentioned it to me.  He wasn't part of our crowd.
I could make so many HD bashing comments but I won't.

I really like the layout of the Traveler's for a large group.  It has so much room and that area with picnic tables.  They let us have a ground floor room so the bike would be close.  Sucks about the cancellations they didn't refund.
Has anyone stayed at the 1876 Inn right across the road?  It looked pretty large, and the breakfast buffet was good.

Ok...so what was this "offensive" t-shrirt you were wearing?  Inquiring minds want to know.  Smile

I thought the 1876 looked like a possibility also. Great breakfast, and covered parking for bikes. I think I'm going back down later this month, maybe I should stay there to check the rooms. bete.

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum.  Looks like a great place.  I didn't see a date in the thread for the STN Nationals next year(or I'm blind and missed it).  I'm planning a trip from CT to Taos next summer to attend WeSTOC.  Like to check this one out as well if the time is right.  Has the date been set yet?

Thanks,
Greg

My buddy Dave gave me the shirt.  Picture on back of a lone sportbike in a pack of cruisers.  "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle" written on it.  The HD rider said, "Hey Brother, that shirt ain't right".  I really think if I'd been alone there would have been a fight.  He was not happy.

I wish the HD rider had been around the very next day as we reenacted that very scene.  10 or so Harleys, Dave on his Guzzi, my wife and me on my sprint.  We were on the ferry together coming from MO into AR across Bull Shoals.  I hoped they would be polite and let us go first, like the people in the SUV.  No such luck.  One of them did wave me past politely.  The pirate leader and second mate were doing everything possible to keep me behind.  I thought the second mate was going to go down.

Sounds like a cool shirt.  Nice to know that a**hat had all the rest of the world's problems solved so he could concentrate on people's apparel.   Rolleyes

Thanks Guy.  Sounds like it's very likely to coinside with my WeSTOC plans.  I'll keep my eyes open for the date.
