Sheriff Redpoof

Going home, I apparently crossed the Continental Divide twice on the same road.  Anyone want to explain this?

Ever hear the saying "a picture is worth 1,000 words?"  Thanks.

And thanks for keeping this site up and running.  I promised a beer way back when.  I still intend to deliver.   Thumbsup

That is, assuming my VFR ever gets running.   Lol

Just how much do your hard bags hold twist?  EEK! I think you could start a nice side business smuggling illegals with those.

108 liters in the sidecases, and they are much narrower than most other bikes with sidecases, so you can still lanesplit (the bars are wider than the bags).  The topcase is either a 35L or a 45L, I can't remember, but I think it's the 35L.  It can take a helmet, whereas the sidecases are too narrow to fit a helmet.

If that is Wyoming your traveling thru, then you did cross the Continental Divide twice. The Divide splits in two and skirts a really large basin (Great Divide Basin). In this area it rarely rains, and when it does, it just evaporates before it can make it out of the basin. Seriously, look at a map of WY, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Not speaking German, I pasted that into a translator and got "Area Road".  If you mean the roads around here in the Bay Area, they are great!  Lots of riding around here.  If you meant something else, please translate to English Smile

LOL!  "Gelande-Strasse" translates more so to "Dirt/Street" and is where the "GS" comes from in your bike's designation.  Thumbsup

Well, in that case, I like it a lot!  Much lighter than my FJR was and has much wider bars, which translates to much better handling.  Huge carrying capacity - on the FJR I was never able to carry my whole toolkit/tire pump/etc and still have lots of space left.  The range is awesome (after I put the Adventure tank on it) - never ran it dry, but my calculations suggest a range of almost 350 miles of not-so-gentle riding.  Confirmed range of at least 310 (and still had gas left).
