I know this one has been beat to death but I'm still wishing someone would make a tank bra for my Sprint ST.  However, I think I may have found an alternative that I'm thinking of buying.  The only problem is that it's kinda expensive.  Does anyone have this?

Tank Protector

In US dollars, it'd be around $175 shipped.  But it IS completely carbon fiber (although I'm not a big fan of carbon fiber).

I like it, but I wonder whether the sides would be slick and would prevent gripping the tank with your legs whilst cornering.

Yeah, that's the only thing I was wondering about too.

Why not get the Triumph tank bag (large or small)?  They both come with a tank bra.

Hmmm... I like it.  While a little on the spendy side, nice find.    Inlove

I have looked into the Triumph bag and frankly don't like how it covers the gorgeous tank on either the Sprint or the Triple.

A couple of pics - Sorry so small...

And while this too has been beat to death, have you thought about covering your tank with something from The Tankslapper?  Great product, price and customer service AND you don't cover up the great lines of your bike.

http://www.thetankslapper.biz/

You can have the same coverage for about $15 +shipping, but yet not quite the bling.

Yeah, I tried the tankslapper.  Hated it.  I also don't like the full coverage of the tank bag cover (so I'm picky.   Bigok  )

I just got off the phone with Mary from Geelong CarbonCraft.  They're giving me a 10% discount so I just bought one.  We'll see how it looks when it gets here.  They don't even make them until ordered and then they're fitted to the tank.  Should be really nice.  I'll post pics when I get it installed.  Should be about a week.  The total will be about $165.  Yeah, it's a lot.

Not a thing wrong with doing what you want to your bike with your money.  I can't blame ya.   Thumbsup

I look forward to seeing some pics.  I picked up the Triumph CF tank protector shortly after getting the bike, and didn't mount it as it fit horribly and wasn't nearly symmetrical.  While I wouldn't say I hate the Tankslapper as it does a good job of protecting the tank from mild scratches on the cheap, it does have a strange "wavy" appearance at least on black paint.

For what I spent on the stock plastic S3 windscreen, it doesn't seem unreasonable.  Lol Cool

The Triumph C/F tank protector for the Sprint must have been designed for some "other" Sprint.  The one that fits/looks the best is the one sold for the 675.

Me either.

But I love the utility of the tank bag, so I swallow my pride and use it.  It takes about 20 minutes to install or remove the bag if I want the bike to look good for those special occasions.

Yeah - I definitely see the draw of the utility, for sure.  I ordered a new tankbag which just came yesterday, and if it slips around and doesn't pan out, I'll be likely ordering the Triumph model.

Sorry about the threadjack sdkoskey...  I just saw the CF Geelong group buy link on T-rat last night.  Pretty good pricing at least on S3 goodies.  I didn't check to see if there's one running for Sprint bits too.

No sweat.  They did give me a 10% discount over the phone though.  The total with shipping ended up being just shy of $160.  So I guess I got in on the group buy anyway!   Bigsmile Thumbsup

Has anyone tried 3-M rockgaurd? I am using it on my Sprint, it's clear self adhesive platic sheets. You can barely see it and it is durable as hell, it is hard to apply correctly (had to do mine twice grrrrr) so $40.00 turned to $80.00 CDN but I fell it was well worth it.

Just got it today.  Not bad at all.  Took a total of 8 days to get to Nebraska from Australia.   Thumbsup
I just got done installing it.  Carbon fiber isn't very flexible so it was a little bit of a pain to get on straight because of the tape on the back.  But I got it on pretty good.  It's not quite as slippery as I thought it'd be.  It's about the same as the tank alone.

Well, since you already bought one, I won't dig up my pics of the triumph tank bag. And btw, its cheaper.
