After my SuperTrapp failed during a NY State trip, I decided to go D&D.  I heard good things so went for it.  Ordered it from www.cyclespot.com.  Never heard of the site before but nice people and the best price I found on the net.  The pipe was delivered within a week, actually 4 business days.

After a little pita mounting (didn't read the directions...it's a slip on!!!), I took the X1 around the block for a spin.  I definitely could notice the stronger pull during mid range.  Yes, it is louder than the SuperTrapp but sounds like an American v-twin should!  Oh yeah, I do have the race ECM.

It's been a few hundred miles since install and I love the stronger mid range.  I used to think the low-end grunt was great but now with the extra power in the center, I'm loving it!  Also, the look and finish is top notch.  I'll get back to post any change in fuel economy.  Last tank might have been a goof (60mpg?).

Summary: I recommend it but could only compare the D&D to the SuperTrapp.  It's not too loud but tells the neighbors that you mean business!  Can't sell the X1 to upgrade to a XB just yet...

Glad you're liking the new exhaust, what a difference it makes, huh?

I experienced the same thrill after upgrading my exhaust from stock, too   Bigok

PlayWithGravity, never saw stock since I bought the bike used but wish I did for a better comparison.  Bounce, nice sound!  What a difference over stock!  Sounds "free" now and I bet much better flow too!

Just filled up again.  A little better gas mileage than before, +3-5mpg. I will keep an eye on it.  I must-ove been easy on the throttle last tank.  It's a little difficult now.
