That's kinda cool. Still hate the look of the motor with whatever they finish it with. Looks like plastic to me.

Thing looks like the Hunchback of Munich or wherever Beemers are made these days.

Hard to believe a company that can make something a beautiful as a /2 can churn out ugly motorcycles on a fairly consistent basis.

I like it...
But I'm waiting to see a GS version (hopefully).

Pictures of F800R

From the picture file name and the side of the bike, looks like they're calling it the F800RR..   Headscratch  I think one R sounds better.

Not a bad looking bike - the German SV.

I read on another website that this is a one-off job by a dealer and not a factory production model.  Is that right?  Yeah well...

Thumbsup+1  But if they blacked out the motor and had a colored frame spar a la Ducati  That could look very nice.  Inlove

wouldn't it be fairly easy to make one, just trim fairing, get an easily avail. headlight , the top triple clamp /H'bar from the ST version . . .
probably easier than, say, converting a Tri 675 Daytona, have to deal with cleaning up the engine and probably redoing some wiring for that
always good to have another option. I want 5 +  gal., BMW . . .

It might only be a 4 gal tank but that BMW makes the most out of those 4 gallons!  up to 65mpg and that's on a US Gallon.  Figure 54-58 with normal riding.  A normal 200 + mile range is dang good.

I'm sorry, but I just don't get these bikes—I like inline twins as I own one—but these bikes just look...well they look cheap and ugly.  I think that BMW missed on these.

It's a one off, Do you really think BMW would let a bike roll out of the factory with hokey looking roundels like that? Crazy

as found on another site, it,s a dealer built[ expensive ] one off , reports here in euroland are saying that bmw have completely ditched the idea of an 800R and have been concentrating all their efforts on the upcoming 800 GS .

Probably for the best.  When you figure that some of the new G650X bikes are already into 5-digit pricing, this would have been an expensive naked 800cc bike.  But people might be willing to pay a bit more for a GS version, and I think the GS would be a better seller.

Keep us in the loop regarding the Euro gossip, mr. moto.   Bigok  Thanks.

Hmmm. My dealer recently got a stunter video on DVD from BMW specifically showing this bike. It looked like (from the video) there were at least two of these bikes, traveling between stunt shows crowded with jap bikes. I forget the riders name ... I'll try to grab that when I swing by the shop tomorrow, but it looked to me like BMW was trying to promote that bike.

Wow.  Looks like another bestselling in their lineup.  I bet it sells like hotcakes.  People who want a lighter GS...even lighter than the the recent re-designed 1200.

www.chrispfeiffer.com it,s just an F800S with no fairing and flat bars, and an aftermarket exhaust and some crash protectors . chris was using this bike in his stunt routine even before BMW made the bike available to the general public , it,s nothing new .
