for you Ed  Coffee Meet / Ride 12-17-06 @ 11:00am

Check the weather forecast and it's looking good for Sunday, so I'm going to call another meet for this weekend. I also have someone to cover my work hours so I'll be rested and ready to ride  Bigsmile

lets go back to
LaGrange General Store, Cafe & Deli
W6098 Hwy 12
Whitewater WI 53190

I know we been there before but there's good roads to ride in the area. A little coffee before we ride and return for ice cream  Bigsmile
some of you have seen the ride I have planned here http://www.grouprider.com/jg.php?g=150 if you haven't please go check it out.

Have fun everyone...

My daughter turns 16 today and we have a weekend full of fun planned.

From dinner in the Walnut room and (yes I am actually try) ice skating tonight.  Sunday is her party so there is no way to squeeze in both.

I have work to do again Sunday morning but I should be done quicker this time. I should be able to make it to LaGrange though. Joanna will be making a special guest appearence also. If I don't make it to LaGrange by 11, we'll see you guys when you get back for ice cream. When do you think you'll be back there?

Also what direction are you leaving from LaGrange? Are you heading up Hwy H first or going left on 12/67? Just wondering incase we miss you and want to follow your route backwards so that we can see the group comming. Then we'll turn around and follow you or pass you. Smile Unless it's too cold for Joanna, then we'll just hang out inside the warm LaGrange Store.  Cool

I would like to try and be here, but I just got a shot of cortizone (ouch) in my shifting foot, and it is sore and my hip still hurts too.......

And I want to make sure it heals right, because I want to put over 20,000 miles on my bike next year.

So I am not sure if I can make it.

So very nice to see you all, LOTS of bikes showed in that mild weather! Joel, the Tiger looks like a great match; hope Cat enjoys the pillion. Lurker, the new 'my people' bike is awful purty-- it even has lavender pinstriping!
It was good to meet you, J Williamson. Didn't manage to catch the names of all the folks there, but I especially liked riding with the "matching bikes and helmets" boys.  Bigsmile

Joel even managed to find some KM roads that were new to me. Sorry I had to cut out early, but duty called.

What a good turn out for December in WI I didn't get a count, but there must have been at least 15 plus bikes and 2 2upers.

I would have put together a longer ride, but being December I figured a quick 50 miles would have been good, next time I'll make it at least 75  Bigsmile

The group ride was "just right"... Not too hot, not too cold.

Some regular "parking lot" photos as well as some "under way" photos....

Nice pictures Jim.  This was the best December day evah!!  Thumbsup Thumbsup  It was great to get in a ride with everyone again.  Also nice to see some new faces.  Kevin and I did some more riding after we left.  I got in about 180 miles in all.  Thanks to FRZY for having another good route mapped out.  I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pictures to add, but it looks like that's been handled anyway.  Until next time.

I saw a palm-GPS on one of the bikes at the meet, but I didn't find out who's.

I've got a palm and I'm thinking of getting a GPS kit for it...  sure would like to talk to someone that's already got it.

I'm running a Tom Tom Navigator 5 on my HP iPaq with GREAT success.  It uses a very small GPS receiver via Bluetooth. Happy to answer any questions you have.

That would be me.  It's an old M500 attached to a Magellan unit.  Picked up the Magellan from Palm's online store a couple of years ago when they were closing them out.  All the M500's have come from EBay.  Screen cracked on the first one but it continued to work.  Paid $40 bucks for that one 2 years ago.  After the screen broke got two more off Ebay for $5.00.  They both work fine.  With the 2 backup units I now have $103 invested in my GPS.  Run Delorme software on it.  Works fine.  Not the fastest processor out there but it gets the job done.
