Just curious who might be using a valve drain bolt on their bike... For example the Fram SureDrain (i know about fram filters, so spare me the lecture Razz)

Just curious how long u had it one the bike and if u ran into any issues.

I use a FuMoto valve on my Subaru.  Works great in the tight spaces under the belly pan and I don't have to bathe my hands in hot oil fumbling around with a bolt.

I never got around to installing one on the Guzzi or Honda.  I guess they're just too easy.  They're almost identical to a car: the Honda's on the pan front, the Guzzi on pan back.  If you've got the ground clearance then I'd say go for it.

The KTM is MUCH more involved with covers, screens, hoses and whatnot.   Crazy

I've got one on my car.  I think it's a fram, but I've had it so long I'm not sure.  Absolutely no problems.  Much cleaner oil changes.

They do flow less than the normal drain bolt removed, so oil changes take a bit longer...

I'd get one for my bike, but I assume I'd have to know what the size and pitch of my drain bolt threads are to order one.

I've had a Fumoto on my ST1100's for 8 years now - no issues and butt simple to change the oil. The drain plug is horizontal on the ST11's so there no issue with the long drain reducing ground clearance.

For the once per year that I change my oil (just before winter), I think I can bust out the 17mm socket and wrench it off.  Wink


I work in a gas processing plant and have seen my share of quarter-turn valves fail.  Crazy

I don't doubt that these things are mighty handy on some bikes. But I'm a pessimist.  I like having a solid bolt rather than a valve keeping oil off my rear tire.  Shrug
