We (Kawrider67 and I) finally made it home from nationals at 4:30 am this morning after having to make a detour to to Lincoln, Nebraska for a new rear tire, due to the strange failure of my rear tire.  I am having the tire shipped home to take it back to the dealer to have the manufacturer representative inspect it.  It seems that the three service places in Nebraska we went to have never seen a tire wear the way it wore, and thought it was a defective tire Dunlop Qualifer.  The tire had more then a couple thousand miles of tread life left it everywhere but, for about an 1/2 wide it was worn almost all the way through, the cord was showing and it was cupping severely.  I was lucky to find a dealer in Lincoln that had my size tire, because in another 50 miles it would have blown.  The tire only had about 6,000 or so miles on it.  I had just got both a new front and rear tire and the front tire is fine and has easily 3,000 to 4,000 miles left on it. The last set I had wore evenly for 12,000 miles, so we are not sure what happened.  We periodically were checking our tire pressure because we were going up and down in the mountains and with the temperature changes we were being cautious and everything seem fine, but it was our 550 miles from Wyoming to O'Neil, Nebraska that seemed to change the tire, it was 110 degrees that day, but I do not think the heat could have done it.

Anyway, we will post ride reports and photos later, right now I need to catch up with work.

It was great meeting everyone and we had a wonderful time, thanks for all the hard work from the members whom were involved in the planning.

Glad you and Dave are home safely and had a good trip.  Thumbsup

You get 12k out of a rear tire?  EEK! Wow.  I had to have a new rear put on in San Bernardino after riding from Milwaukee to South Carolina to San Berdoo.
