I plugged in my modified air compressor to the ACC connector to see how it would work, and POOF went the fuse.  Turns out it's only a 3AMP, so I'm wondering if it would be safe to put in a 5AMP fuse instead?  I know the wiring is fairly thin, but it seems like a small jump.

Opinions?

I wouldnt do that. The wiring is pretty light. There is a kit you can get from Powerlet to install heftier wiring  or a dual outlet plug. I would go that route.

You're not lost on a motorcycle, just finding the end of this road and what lies next.

Fuses are sized to protect the wiring.  You should NEVER install a larger fuse that the original.  A 67% increase in the fuse rating doesn't sound like a small jump to me.  Take a look at the wiring on your compressor...probably much bigger than the acc ckt wiring.  I doubt that 5 amps would be near enough to run the compressor anyway.
