I'm looking to update my GPz 1100 in the next year, so I'm looking for an ST mount that is comparable, but much more so.... more grunt.  After careful comparison between the ZX-14 and the Hayabusa, I prefer the 'busa, and I don't think the C-14 is going to be any better.

How is it touring on the 'busa?  Do many people opt for Genmars or the like to raise the clipons?

Also, what is the deal with the aerodynamic 'hump' on the pillion... some hayabusas I see a double saddle, some I see a single.  Is this a dealer / factory option?

Please excuse my ignorance.

Thanks!

Speaking only for myself....I Love It!!!!    Inlove

You have choices on various pegs for more leg room, if you need it.  Buell pegs will give you about 1.5" or so.

Bars can be raised with Heli Bars, Genmars, or Reaper Risers, to name three.

More available farkles than anything this side of a Harley!

Suspension is cushy in stock form, adjustable and upgradable to suit your taste and pocketbook.

The hump comes with every new bike, it is the solo alternative to the rear seat which is also standard.  Easy to switch back and forth.

Factory centerstand available.

Wide selection of tires for the way that you ride.

200+ mile range (doable in just over an hour, if you prefer!)   Lol

Did I mention I like mine???    Bigok

The Busa is one GREAT bike.  It is a wonderful all arounder.  It will Sport Tour with the best of them, and is very comfortable for 1k days at a high rate of speed.  I have run 1500 miles in 24 on it.  Went to Alaska (Prudhoe Bay) and down to Key West on Miss Busa.  It is easy to ride around town and is OK on the twisties.  Of course it is not as flickable as the pure sport bikes like a GSXR or the others in that class.

And PLUS 1 to above.

Plus, anything else is just second best.

I have come to love mine too. Got a smok'n deal on a used one and have been very happy. Mine has Helibars, throttle miester, zero gravity double bubble windshield, centerstand, and a hard wired valentine 1 radar detector. Other than that, STOCK! No headers or power commander. Quiet, dynoed 160 rwhp and I can average 43 mpg at 90 and 100 mph! This thing is a hoot! I wanted an FJR, but the price was not in my budget. I like the new concours, but at over 600 pounds an 13,700 w/abs, I guess the 'busa's the ticket for me! I would like a little more up right riding position and a better seat (corbin won't work for me) but hey, you can't have everything; and if you did, where would you put it? Headscratch
Still, if I had the money I would look at the new concours. It has too much stuff NOT to be a great sport touring bike! Hell, check out what the thing comes with stock!    Cool
