I have done some scanning for hard bags to fit the Firebolts and Lightnings without success. Does anybody have them fitted to their rides?

If you google motorcycle pelican case racks, or go on ADV rider, you'll find the website of a guy who makes racks. There might be one for your bike.

Every hard bag post I've seen I've posted look at

http://www.eurotechmotorsports.com/forms/MyBike.cfm?do=detail&q_part=650%2E703%2000%2001

Don't know anything about them and no one has indicated that they've purchased them.

I'm interested in Givi mounts for a Lightning Long which I haven't found yet.

I ran into the same problem with my X1, no racks.  I wanted to look into buying a rack and bringing it to a welder and letting him modify it but that will add up.

Yes Venture does make a rack system for Buells. I have a 2003 XB9S and have Part of the system on my bike. It starts with a base mounting system that you can add either a grab handle, luggage rack or an A frame style rack that mounts a back pack something like the tail bags you see on cruisers. I have the first two (grab handle and luggage rack) and really like the system. It took maybe 20 minutes to install if that and is very easy to fit on the bike. I believe the rack will carry about 20 pounds. I know Hepco/Becker also make a rack for the Buell but the last I checked there is no picture on their web site so I don't know what it actually looks like. A buddy of mine put one on his Busa and it was just a steel plate with no tie down points, I'm not sure if this would be the same for Buell. The one from Venture is tube steel so lots of attachment points for tie downs.

HI Nanbil,
I needed to outfit my 2001 S3 to carry my wife, camping gear, riding gear, and food for a 5 day group ride.
1st choice was original Buell S3T hard bags and mounting hardware, but new they are almost half of what I paid for the bike. I almost snagged a used set off the BADWEB site, but no luck.
2nd choice was cordura soft bags, but I did not want all the weight bearing down on the rear plastic tail piece, all the scuffing and wear on the paint, straps to fiddle with and I did not want my wife to sit on the straps.
Finally, I got the ventura rack system with the largest bag called the Europack.
Next I purchased the largest tank bag I could find (Frank Thomas 40 liter), and all was well.
I also had Rick Mayer custom build a touring seat, it was the single best upgrade I have ever made to a motorcycle - so incredibly comfortable!
http://www.rickmayercycle.com/

We packed the Ventura with as much bulky light items as possible (sleeping bag, sleep mats, clothing, tent) and put the heaviest items (food, personal stuff) in the tankbag.
At times we did overload the ventura rack - but it worked great!
The really cool part it the Europack slips off really easily when full and clips down very fast.
No messing with saddlebag velcro straps, multiple tie-down points, or wondering if your rear tire is eating your saddlebag. Plus it is super easy to load , with one main compartment.
Even loaded with passenger and tons of gear - the bike rocked! Total stability in 90mph sweeping turns.

So, I thing the ventura rack is the way to go!
I had a great experiance purchasing it at
