Guys, I did a little searching here on satellite radio, but I need a little further clarification. Here are my questions for putting a Sirrius satellite on my bike.

1. Do they make a water proof unit? If not, what do you do when it rains?
2. Suggestions for where to place the antenna?
3. Where can I buy a mounting bracket for the radio?
4. Do I need to run it through an Autocom device? - If no, then any clever suggestions for running the earphone cord?
5. Where can I buy good quality comfortable earphones.

In the XM/Sirus thread I posted a link to a motorcycle install kit on TSS Radio, it includes a rain cover. As far as I know there is no waterproof units for either Sirius or XM.

2. I velcro'd my previous antenna under the windshield.

3. See above link.

4. I ran a stereo mini cable under the tank so I had the jack under the seat, I also had one that plugged into my tankbag.

5. I bought my Etymotic ER6i in-ear speakers on sale at Buy.com. There is an ER6i love thread on here as well.

Ram Mount makes a bracket that goes between the radio and a Ram Mounting system. The antenna just attaches to the bracket via the magnet.

Dang!  I want one for my Gilsson antenna for my 2610 but... can't find anyone selling this.  Web searches were pretty lame and trying to order on-line from RAM Mount?  Fahgedaboudid!  Thumbsdown

CycleGadgets sells a couple different types of Satellite Radio mounts:

http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/?cat=SATRAD

I've got the Cycle Solutions type that goes on the brake fluid reservoir on both my FZ1 and GL1800.  On my WeeStrom, the Cee Bailey's windscreen interfered with the mount, so I wound up just sticking my Delphi Roady XT in my tankbag and snaking the wires out - my antenna stuck to the top of the brake fluid reservoir.  I used an inexpensive 'Boosteroo' to amplify the sound; worked just fine.

1.  Nope.  I stick mine in my tank bag when it rains.
2.  See pic:
http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l58/clay_lubbers/Bandit1200/Bandittour005.jpg
I added a little bit of plate to my driving light mount on the left side- that's where I have mine mounted.  You can just see it over the GPS.
3.  I used a RAM mount and the universal base screwed to the back of the radio car mount.  I can take deatil pics if you want them.
4.  Nope- I came up with a brilliant (to me) solution.  I bought a cheap MP3 player with an FM tuner.  The Sat radio broadcasts on an FM signal, so I simply tune to that channel.  Plus I can have a few of my own tunes on the MP3 player if the mood strikes.  Also I'm not connected to the bike by any wires- it works pretty slick with a pair of ER6's.
5.  I tried a few things- the cheapy things the MP3 player comes with (SUCKED!), the cheap plugs with the foam surrounds from Rider's Wearhouse (not much better), and finally I dropped the coin on the ER6i's- around $100.00, but they rule.  They act as ear plugs when I mute the MP3 player, or have it off, and they give great sound when on.

I might have done what you are trying to do- if you have more questions or want pics, let me now.

Cyclegadgets sells a cover for the Sirius Streamer GT. That's what I have. Unfortunately here in the South with the drought I haven't been able to use the cover. Sad
