I hope this is better then the January one. Thats the one I went to last year. It was pretty much a harley cruiser fest. Not manufacturers, just dealers, and lots of leather EEK!

I'll be going on Sunday, hopefully I don't do something stupid like throw a deposit down on a Beemer while I'm there.

No one in Ontario, at this point in the year is going to complain about a straight road in Florida, unless they can't ride it. Give me two weeks trial, and I'll decide.Wink

Straight roads in Florida? No way man. All you have to do is follow RockerTom. I spent a full day doing twisties behind him and had a blast. There are no elevation changes to be sure, but there was a lot of side to side action. Look him up. He's in the Orlando area (works at Disney).

Sorry all for not posting earlier.  Been stuck over at ST-owners.com during the down time and reading about way too many farkles!  Smile

Anyway, D and I are in for the Friday 4pm meet...Race 'ya for a seat on the new Connie!  (Imagine just 1 year ago I was b*tch*n about the old conk, and now...whewwie!)

Lil'one won't be coming.  The temps are way too cold and those downtown TO streets have mean crosswinds...besides, Mom and Dad need a chance to play again.

And hey Sarchi!  Take 'yer time getting to the show!  No racing up the QEW, OKay? !

Damn what a week of hell at work! Bash And it's not even done yet!  Anywho, we'll be leaving North Bay around 7 but we want to make a couple of very quick stops (Ikea and TigerDirect) before parking at Yorkdale and taking the train in so I figure we'll be hitting the show between 1 and 2.  I suppose the C14 is as good a place to rally as any. I'll be the tall beefy guy with short hair and a beard with the cutie with the long red hair.

Sorry to have missed you Noam. Several stories about you were circulated, some of them apparently true, or at least remotely so. You were very funny and we all laughed. Thanks.
The show was pretty good although we rushed it a bit in order to have time for beer and food. The C14 is a great looking bike and they told us that final pricing is still being decided but will likely be around the $19,900 range. The new Duc is gorgeous. I enjoyed seeing the Guzzis but their after sales support is a bit on the thin side. I'm liking the new KLR650 a lot.
There were lots of folks at the Harley display. I met some BMW friends and bought a Tee from the B.A.D. booth.
We all discussed next summer's riding including the PSSBR replacement ride. Details to follow from Fred who was elected to be in charge.

Some were concerned you may have been "stopped" on your way to the show. I assured everyone that wouldn't be the reason.

Yup, we are finally home too. We had a great time seeing you guys again!  And a REAL pleasure meeting a couple of the ladies of the group as well.  Beerchug  NK sat on a few bikes and I sat on a NICE Honda scooter.  Then the guy from Humber College tried to talk me into getting my license.  EEK!  Uhhhhhhhhh....no.  Charlie Boorman was there promo-ing his Dakar DVD, although it didn't look like you could get near him this year, but we didn't stay long enough to find out.

Sarchi, so sad to hear your boy is not doing well right now.  Sad This house went through all that a couple of weeks ago, and we are STILL trying to get over the "schrapnel" of the illness.  Hope he gets better.  Sorry you couldn't make it.

We had a good time, and great company!  Thanks for helping us have a great night out, guys!

Next years riding was also much discussed. Most are in for ESTN and there was some discussion of subbing the Woodstock area/Catskills for the proposed Sharbot Lake Meet. I'll post a thread when the site is back up again after the migration. ( 40 years in the desert after Egypt and now I have to endure this).

The NY trip would in addition to the great roads in the area ( we would invite local input from Region 6ers ) give those of us who missed the original a chance to get to Yasgur's farm and to enjoy the finest  in Borscht Belt humour the Catskill's have to offer. ( Take my wife.... Please). Add beer and food and ........

Also unfortuneately we lost Shil before we made dinner plans and couldn't find him to let him know where to meet us. Hopefully he'll come on one of our rides next season.

That area would be great...for me it's only an extra hour or two vs sharbot.  Maybe I could finally visit my sister in nyc before she moves back up here.  I'd love to attend one of Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble shows at the studio in Woodstock, usually on the 1st and 3rd Saturday each month..but it looks like tickets are $200 now. Hey Sarchi!

Just clicked on your link to your "new" ride...very nice!  But watch out...it'll still get you into trouble if you're not careful.   Sorry you couldn't make it, though...

Anyways, I'm off to watch a movie or something...anything but the Leafs...just turned on the TV for 2 minutes and already to see Detroit net their 3rd...?  Give me a break!  EEK!

Now to dream about spring...and test riding a new KLR...or Bandit...or...

All in all a good show, but I was disappointed that there was no Triumph stand there, not even a Triumph dealer stand. I wonder if they will be at the January show?
Loved just about all the bikes on the Ducati and Guzzi stands though, and the Benelli 1130 Tre was beautiful but pricey at around $27,000! EEK!  Would I really want one enough to pay more than the price of a Ducati 1098S? Crazy  Thankfully I won't have to make that decision anytime soon!
So no pic of any Triumph, but here is one of the Benelli 1130 Tre. If anyone wants to see the 1130 TNT naked version I have a pic that I will post if there is any interest. A bargain at a mere $24,000!!

Hey, it was good to meet you folks, old friends and new.
I hooked up with my wife; we didn't look at much besides scooters.  We almost bought one of these.  Started thinking about what we'd need if we ever actually did head out somewhere together and what we'd do with our dog and briefly considered one of these.  We decided that what we really want is a Mazda Miata: much more comfortable and a lot less hassle. So I'm waiting for the car show.
Canban, I'm always up for a trip.  Remember that in less than two weeks the days start getting longer again, it's almost springtime.

I question your definition of "almost", but I like your optimisim  Thumbsup
I was disappointed there was no Ural presence at the show. I really am interested in finding out more about 'em.
And yah, what happened to Triumph??

Ural was at the Toronto show, they had quite a few bikes there. Regarding Triumph, I was dissapointed they were a no show as well. If Hyosung can make it Triumph should be able to!

I believe that Triumph has decided to fore go all motorcycle shows this year (NA). I guess you'll have to go to the local dealer if you want a look see.

Yeah, Ural was definitely there... Got to give a Patrol a good going over (MSRP around $12,700 CDN).  Definitely considering one as a winter/camping bike.

Apparently, they opted out of all US shows last year and saw their sales rise. Maybe they were trying the same strategy here? And yes, no Canadian show this year is supposed to see a Triumph. If I'm correct, there are also no more Triumph dealers in Toronto with the closing of McBride Cycle recently.

Gotta love those things. I saw a guy on one this past weekend when it was gorgeously warm outside. His was all painted up in olive drab. I wonder if he had the 2-wheel drive setup?

Well, if he had the olive camo thing going that was probably the Gear-Up he was driving and it's one of the two models (along with the Patrol) that have 2WD.
