Good job BLS, seems like a hellishly wasteful process though, 10 pounds of magnesium down to 6 ounces  EEK! How much of that could be recycled? If any?

Thanks Ant... there is a lot of waste but I save the chips to make spectacular white hot magnesium
fires... also some of my hunter friends use the chips as fire starters in the wet...

How much does 10lbs worth of Magnesium cost?

Thanks chornbe... the block of magnesium started out as a 40lb chunk at $2.80 a pound... from
that block I made a set of triple trees and these caliper mounts... I still have some big pieces left...

Its great therapy running a lathe and a mill, isn't it?  Smile

Its a whole lot more fun making it your way to your standards as well.

Thank you... you have read my feelings exactly...

Wow! Ok, that is *way* cheaper than I thought it would be.

Ya know... if you built a tree top for the '06/'07 FJR that mounts standard 7/8" bars, I bet you could move a few units... ya from what I hear. Wink

Thats because we are on the same wavelength.

I get behind my friend's lathe and mill from time to time. Soon I'll have my own lathe/mill combo...they're on sale at the moment. Yeah I know, they're frowned upon, but for my needs, it'll do.

In 30 years Larry's gonna be like that old coot in "The Worlds Fastest Indian" still hand-farkling his highly modified RC45 and running it fast as hell.  I can see it.

It is cheap... all I got invested is my sweat equity... I think Spiegler already has that tree top market nailed down...
