Cloudcroft, NM What to do?

Looks like we might be attending a wedding in Cloudcroft, NM at the end of next month. Might have Thu - Tue over the holiday w/ the wedding being on Sunday. Trying to figure out stuff to do in the area. I figure we'll do Carlsbad Caverns and maybe hike Guad Peak. What else is there to do within a reasonable distance of that area that justifies the eleveated plane ticket prices?

Cloudcroft is a ski area during winter and this is the off season. If you are taking your bike it is a good area for riding but as far as attractions I don't really know of anything special to tell you.

There's White Sands National Park down the mountain to the west and Reyodosa (sp?) to the north. The ride up to the Apache ski resort is pretty cool.
