What about velcroing the camera under the nose? There is unpainted, black plastic there that probably wouldn't be harmed by adhesive -- certainly wouldn't be noticeable even if damaged.
I was eyeing that spot, but decided against it due to the length of cable required to get the camera down there.
Also, if I can get a RAM ball w/appropriate size bolt to screw into one of those side bolts, I could reach down and adjust it and move it around to other angles (including seeing behind me and directly beside me) as needed.
I've ordered a few mounting options (including suction cup) items from DogCam systems.
