I'd like to mount a RAM-ball to my FJR fairing - but don't know if there are any available with a threaded post long enough, and the same size, as what is currently used on the FJR's fairing (the allen bolts).  It would be nice to replace one of these allen bolts with a threaded post RAM ball, so I could mount my helmet cam directly to it.

Anyone been down this road?   There aren't any obvious places to mount the camera on the FJR fairing short of this - I don't really want to put industrial strength velcro with super-sticky backing on my fairing (then have it rip off paint etc. when I go to take it off).

Thanks

What about velcroing the camera under the nose?  There is unpainted, black plastic there that probably wouldn't be harmed by adhesive -- certainly wouldn't be noticeable even if damaged.

I was eyeing that spot, but decided against it due to the length of cable required to get the camera down there.

Also, if I can get a RAM ball w/appropriate size bolt to screw into one of those side bolts, I could reach down and adjust it and move it around to other angles (including seeing behind me and directly beside me) as needed.

I've ordered a few mounting options (including suction cup) items from DogCam systems.

I'm not handy, so it will be pure luck if I can find a RAM ball the exact same size as those allen bolts.

Thanks..
