So it is that time for me.  I need to change the front brake pads.  It is my first time, so I am looking for some advise.   Does anyone have recommendations on pads?

Should I plan on replacing the rotors or can thy be turned?

Thanks

I love DP sintered pads.  They are a little pricy, but offer outstanding feedback and cool down quickly.  I've never had to have my rotors turned, but I'm very careful and watch pad wear very closely.  I know some people use a fine (400/600 grit) sandpaper to clean the rotors when they change pads—I’ve never done this either.  Good luck.

I ran a set of EBC HH  pads for 10K miles on my last bike before I sold it. Really liked 'em. Great stopping power and they didn't hurt my rotors.....my .02........

Don't worry about your rotors...the most you'll do to them is bead blast them with glass beads to get the previous layer of pad material off or replace them.  No turning of motorcycle rotors.

As to pads....go right ahead and get the OEM stock ones if they worked just fine for you.  If you do no need to bead blast the rotors.
