interesting and well written comparison but for now I will keep my '05 FJR.

Less gas mileage and less range is not something I want to trade for.

Might know also that FredH was a disguntled FJR forum member.  Maybe has harder feeling about fellow forum members than the bike itself?

Sorry but I disagree with alot of this. i have ridden both and the FJR is  a proven performer over the new connie 14 and the heat is managable on the FJR, not the connie

have ridden both, would have liked to see the Connie with larger windshield and a slightly lower seat, and some other color than "neutral" silver, it is faster and better handling than the FJR imho
