... but it only counts if you're riding on the same motorcycle.

As some of you know, my girlfriend and I made the trek to Custer, SD this year.  This was her first long distance m/c trip ever.  Long story short, she absolutely loved it.  At the time, my dad (who was also along for the ride, on his own bike, of course) predicted that if we made it through the week without getting on each others nerves, we'd be engaged by July.  Well, he was right.  After seven months of dating, Rachelle and I got engaged on Sunday and couldn't be happier.  She's a keeper and I don't intend to let her get away!

So, fellas, if you're dating a lovely lady who is up for a week-long m/c trip on the back of your bike, I would recommend that you go for it!  I think such a trip can serve as a relationship pressure cooker that will bring issues to the surface and show both of you what you're dealing with.

OK, I'm done philosophizing now.

Good thing I'm not marrying you then, eh?   Wink

I think Rachelle was more comfortable on the back seat of my bike than I was on the front.

Actually, she will be taking the MSF course in August to get her license.  I told her I'd never buy her a motorcycle unless we had the same last name.  Well, I guess her plan is falling into place.   Bigsmile

No makeshift beer cooler this year.  It was probably for the best because I couldn't even get from the town grocery store back to the resort (just a couple of miles) without getting pulled over by the local authorities.   Embarassment

Not ALL the time.

Strangely enough, I can sit in the passenger seat of a car but not a bike.  Although that might be because I have almost no car driving experience, but put in a ton of saddle time.

Sometimes I like it if the guy takes control Wink

BTW, Rachelle passed the MSF course!  She'll be getting a new license this week with her new M/C endorsement added!  She's always enjoyed motorcycles, usually from the back seat (except the occasional dirt bike), but now she's been bitten by the "I want my own bike" bug really bad.  She can't wait to get her own mount.  We sometimes dream about eloping and using the wedding money to buy her a bike.  Alas, the wedding plans are already in process and money is being spent, so that ship has already sailed.  Good stuff, either way.   Bigok

Good luck with that.  Weddings are damn expensive.

She can just get a cheap dress, and buy a beater bike this winter with the money she saved instead. Bigsmile

Well, what she really wants is an F800ST.  She's looking at a Ninja 250 as a first bike.  Her family would be tickled if she got a Buell, though.  They started calling her a "traitor" the moment she rode on the back of my bike (tongue in cheek, of course).  Her basic criteria are small, sporty and maybe "cute" is in there, too.   Wink
