Coupla weeks ago I had friends over for a dinner.

Anyway I seated everyone on one side of the dining room table, got an extension cord and wheeled the big screen into the dining room for a showing of Snakes on a Plane.

We had meatloaf (I put spinach and almonds in mine).

I thought it was a great film.  Others said they enjoyed the meatloaf.

Transformers and Live Free or Die Hard were both great action flicks. Pretty typical mindless viloence, explosions etc.....but always entertaining to watch!  Bigsmile

+1 Bruce Willis had some great lines.

Check out "The Fountain" directed by Darren Aronofsky.  Same dude who did "Pi" and "Requiem for a Dream".  All excellent movies.

I liked the Transformers movie quite a bit, but the Die Hard movie was just too over the top in unbelievable stunts that I didn't like it too much (plus a lot of the CG was pretty crappy).

Yay: Freeway - This is a dark comedy that is great. Many times during the movie was was uttering "That is so wrong" while laughing my ass off.

Nay: Apocalypto - Mel Gibson's over-the-topness just annoys me. If the movie hadn't been so retardedly graphic (ala ChuckyCheese type fake panther knawing on some guy's face) I may have liked it more.

Pass:  "Children of Men" - huge dissappointment.  So much more they could have done with it.

You're cracked.  That movie was awesome.

Also, Equilibrium was a ton of fun.  One of those "Great movies nobody ever heard of" because it came out right around the time of the first Matrix film, but Christian Bale is always good to watch and there was some badass gun-fu in there.

Skip:  Black Snake Moan.  Although there is an amazing amount of nekkid Christina Ricci in it, there's not much else to see there.

I do agree with that part, but watch it with the sound turned off.  I've heard better dialogue in low-budget porn.

How's the soundtrack?  He's a blues player, right?  Is that worth a dang?

The Italian... About a boy in a Russian Orphanage... Excellent

Children from Heaven... About a young Indian boy and his sister and his desire to win a race to get some new shoes... Will bring tears to your eyes

I'm Not Scared.... About a wealthy Italian boy kidnapped by criminals....Gripping

Nobody Knows... Japanese film about a family where the mother deserts them... Hard to watch... Not recommended...

We liked the Illusionist...

Got to love Netflix!

Not new movies:  (I prefer comedies)

Super Troopers... Must see.  Destined to be a classic like Airplane

Kung Fu Hustle... Another must see, especially for any kung fu affecionados

Waiting... "Yeah, carpe dees nuts!"  (worth it for that line alone).

Shaun of the Dead.

Other movies that are my favorites:  Millers Crossing and Brick

Shaun of the Dead was great!  Thumbsup

The last movie I watched was when I had the flu a few weeks ago - The Outlaw Josey Wales. I was in the mood for a western and had never seen it before. Good flick.
