Wow! One hell of a trip and a good report! A little too grueling for my tastes though. I found that shipping the bike one way east to west and then riding back home gives me alot more time to enjoy the "good" roads out west (like CA36). Nebraska and/or North Dakota are intersting in their own ways, but not both ways!

Brother there's north and south.  One could take a different route each way perhaps?

Cool report.
But let me ask you; I've been trying to contact Daniel Cohen for a few months.
He set the record for the NPT back in 2000 & 2001.
I'm about to set a new record, and would like to get some feedback from him.
Is there any way that you can relay this information back to him?
My email is wb (at) wboyter.com

Thanks.

Wow what a trip my hat is off to you and your friend.  I would love to try that trip at some point; I recently rode from Chicago to Detroit to Mackinaw City about 500 miles+/- and thought I was going to need back replacement surgery.  I ride a zzr1200 love the bike but not really made for a 43 year old back.  The story and pictures were equal to or better than most of the motorcycle magazines I read.

A little late but I just finished reading the whole thing.

Great ride!  I loved the pictures, the commentaries, and the adventures of the players.  Thanks for sharing.   Thumbsup Thumbsup

Nice job, looks like a great time.  And, yes, Ohio does suck.
