I ride a Guzzi Sport. This route is great for me and may be good for you super bike guys. 290 west to FM 362. Go north. Some good turns on this road. At 1488 turn east or right. Some more goods turns. Turn north or left on 362. Take it EZ by the Field Store Civic Center then turn it up. After two sets of long left hand then right handers turn west on 2979. Turn it way up. This road kicks ass. You will end up on Hwy 6. Turn north and set sail to Navasota and good old 3090. Tell everybody at Yankees hello fer me! 62 miles from 290 and 362 to Yanks. Plenty of fuel along the way.

Hey Fritz!  Good to see ya online.  Enjoyed chattin' with you at Yankees this afternoon and I can't wait to check out the Guzzi.  Dr. Gil and Orson are a couple of the Guzzi-ista on the board and I'm sure you'll have a few others hit ya up as well Smile  I'll try your route tomorrow assuming it doesn't rain.

Take a look around here and make yourself at home!

Thanks for posting this route. My husband and I live in La Porte on the southeast side of Houston and are looking for some routes to get out of the city. I've also heard there's some nice riding around Conroe.

Hey thanks for the Conroe info. Never looked there! Another great road is 149 up through the National Forest. Stay on 149 to Anderson and turn right on old 90 then left on 244 and you end up crossing Hwy 30 in Carlos. Just the other side of 30 is Yankees Tavern. This is a cool biker bar. I always park my Guzzi under the sign reading " Harley Davidson Parking Only".
Here's another neat route off the same road:
149 to old 90 in Anderson.
Turn left on old 90 towards Navasota.
About 12 miles just past the stock yards on your right is FM 3455 North, turn right.
This road snakes around the Grimes County Fair grounds and dead ends into the famous FM 3090.
Turn right on 3090.
I would recommend extream caution your first 100 or so trips on this road.
I ran my Harley into a ditch on this road and my buddy ditched my Guzzi on this road.
Both of us have been on two wheels for 30 years.
But 3090 is a gas! Most of the curves look great going in but the cross slope varies and the radius changes. A real challenge at night! Oh yeah, it is slicker than s__t when hot.
Going north on 3090 you will turn left on 149 then left again on 244 and end up in Carlos and Yankees.
I will write up another route tomorrow.
Good luck!
Fritz
