Based on everyone's positive opinion, I went ahead and bought the wide version on Ebay. It's one of the best $10.50 farkle I've spent for the bike. I took it for a 4 hour test ride today and it was great for my wrist and hand...very minimal cramping. I did have to modify it slightly by cutting off about 1/2" on the left side to fit my palm better.

It's not the destination, but the journey, that counts. A sport-tourer's ride between two points is seldom a straight line. He will often seek the most convoluted route possible.

I like mine very much.  However, I do notice (moreso on my Strom than any other bike) that I have to be careful when riding in town.  If I have been doing highway riding and pull into town and go slow, I find that sometimes it gets in the way, accellerating while braking is a problem Smile
But, it sure has made riding a whole lot more pleasurable.

Do take it off the throttle when you get into gravel/dirt/offroad stuff.

Especially if you've already re-geared your vstrom for Insane Acceleration.

Don't ask me how I know.

Hehe.
Yes, I usually spin it round the grip to point harmlessly down whenever I get off the highway, but it still catches me unawares at times.

If you like the Cramp Buster, you will love a Vista Cruise.  I have both and wonder how I ever got along without them.

I had a Throttlemeister on my BMW and a brand x throttle lock on my XX but I removed it and installed a $10 Crampbuster. I like it best.   Thumbsup

Have you used it on both grips or only the throttle?

Throttle only, I don't see any advantage to having it on the left bar.  You can take your hand off and that is enough.

I don't really like the CrampBuster.   The original "Throttle Rocker" is the best - but they got into a patent dispute with CrampBuster I think, and were forced to change the design.   The Throttle Rocker II is horrible - attaches via velcro.

Crampbuster is too big, the Throttle Rocker is the perfect size.  Small enough so it doesn't get in the way, but there when you need it.   I find the CrampBuster too big, and gets in the way when I'm not on the freeway (yes, I know you can turn them around, but I don't want something I have to keep moving out the way).

I found a company in Canada who still sells the original - so I bought two.

Actually, if I was feeling slightly trashy, I'd have written "AutoVox CCS-100, guys...  anything else is just a hand job". Bigsmile

And what is wrong with a hand-job while riding?

I use a throttle lock on the K, and the throttle rocker on the guzzi. They are different. Not interchangable. The tr allows you to change the way that you hold the grip, giving good relief, yet your hand is still close to the bar for safety.

The "hand job" comment was purely being flippant.  But, honest, after having used all sorts of throttle locks and then using a real cruise control, no way I'd go back to a lock.  When I want to go play, there's no hardware in the way, nothing to work around, etc.  And when I'm grinding out miles on the slabs, push the button and life is good (and my right hand gets a rest).

One thing the AutoVox unit doesn't do out of the box is include a specific "disengage" button.  Tapping the brakes, pulling in the clutch briefly (to create a sudden engine speed-up, which is an "alarm" condition), or powering the unit down will disengage the cruise control.  But there are times when I don't want to flash brake lights, the clutch thing is... I dunno... less than elegant, and dropping power means my speed setpoint is lost.  I have a simple wiring mod to add a disengage button but just haven't gotten around to adding it.  Yet.
