Nope. Dorna doesn't spend the $$'s to bring 250 or 125 to Laguna. Maybe next year as both 250 and125 gp classes have been announced for the Indy MotoGP weekend.

If you're having withdrawals, there was a cracking AMA Supersport race at Laguna.

The 250 races have been great this year, arguably more exciting than the big boys.

/especially with that nutcase Hector running loose

Agreed. They have been way more competitive. Hell, my wife can't tell the difference between the two now which speaks to the level of competition.

Is it Dorna? Or the US promoters?  The only place that doesn,t get all classes is the US. We get the 125cc and 250cc at Phillip Island, always have done. And before somebody rattles on about Eurocentric this and that, Phillip Island is about as far as you can get away from Spain. We also get WSBK at the Island. I use to enjoy watching the WSBK races from Laguna on the crystal bucket.... what happend to the US WSBK round is a clue to why no 125 and 250 GPs...

Laguna got the 125s and 250s from '88 to '94 and even the sidecars were there for the first few years. Then, the GPs stopped coming to America because of ever dwindling attendance. In '94 Kenny Roberts Sr. put up his own money to promote the event but lost his shirt as only about 17K showed up. World Superbike took over and we even had World Supersport for the first couple of years before the contract expired and Laguna was able to secure the MotoGP deal through 2010. It'll probably be the same with AMA Superbike and Supersport supporting the MotoGP big boys whereas Indy will get the full GP show. It's all about the money and perhaps the feeling is that 'muricans don't care about the tiddler classes.

Oh, and according to http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2007/Jul/e/n070730c.htm Miller gets the World Superbikes in 2008.

My understanding is that Dorna pays part of the travel expenses out of the franchise fees each team pays to secure grid spots in GP. I could certainly believe that SCRAMP didn't want to pay an extra sanction fee for the 125 or 250 because they did not believe it would increase attendance. Indy may not want to work with the AMA for support races so they may have worked a deal for the 125 and 250 races.

Does any part of the Austraiian government subsidize part of the MotoGP or Superbike visit to Phillip Island?

Distance doesn't matter.  Australia is much more like Europe than the United States is.
