I was the local dealership and he has a used 2006 FJR with a dash that was replaced under warranty. The dealer told me that most of the 2006 FJR's dashboards were replaced. Have you all heard of this or is he full of BS.

There was an error with the real time fuel consumption display on the 2006 FJR's.  It would only read 17 MPG.  My dealer told me of a Yamaha recall to fix the issue by replacing the dash.  With this it also would reset the odometer.  He said they had some way to document the mileage of the bike by putting some stickers on the back of the dash and in the owners manual.  Since the MPG display is useless anyway, I have no plans on getting the dash replaced.
