Weekend after next they're going to be ripping out my carpets, putting down flooring, fixing a downstairs bathroom, and about a dozen other things, so we're going to be out of the house. My wife has generously suggested I go ride that weekend (so I'll at least be out of her hair), so I'm going to put it to you all -- would anyone be interested in going for a spin, *somewhere* either Saturday or Sunday while the weather's still kinda nice?

Maybe one of the great ride planners on this site Inlove can come up with something for us to do. If such a thing happens, Sunday would work better for me.  Wink But I would be game for a Saturday ride as well.

I'm thinking Sunday is preferable, also, but I still have the luxury of flexibility. Where...oh..where..shall we go..(*sigh*)?

Have there been any decisions made here yet? The reason I ask is that Domino's writes the weekly schedule by Sunday. I have to have any request for a day off in by Saturday. If not, I'll be working next weekend. So, what say you?

Thanks,
David

Eep. Sorry, I've been busy for a couple of days.

No, I don't believe this has been nailed down, and yes, I'm still interested in going for a ride either day. My apologies for being lazy -- since my navigational expertise with this are is a bit slim, the best route I could suggest is a couple of the twisted edges on the east side, south of town, though they certainly won't compare with the last route around Hood Canal.

Anybody else with the Washington State Destination Highways book with suggestions? Otherwise, I'll just close my eyes and start flipping pages...

So, maybe this is more of a ride than you're considering but we're thinking about heading up to Mount Baker tomorrow.  Route up Hwy 9 through Arlington, Big Lake, Sedro Wooley and up to Demming, followed my the Mount Baker Highway.

For the DH users, see-
DH61
DH8

And if things work out, we'll come back down through Bellingham via 542 and down Chuckanut Drive (DH27).  From there we'll wing it.

Best to hit this stretch early-ish as summer traffic can build up quick.  You're welcome to join us, or for that matter, anybody interested.

I know it's late, but circumstances have changed (not tearing up the place this weekend after all). I will be free on Sunday and am likely to ride *somewhere*, however, since it's one of those use-it-or-lose-it propositions (family men, can I get a witness?).

I've been timid about "leading" a ride around here because I just don't know the area or the people that well, but I will lay down a basic agenda for those who might be interested -- meet @ Beth's at...say...8am (worked last time), ride a bunch, then stop and eat, then ride some more, then go home.

I'll be happy to haggle over routes and destinations -- my trusty DH book in hand -- if I can get a quick show of hands. Anyone (like I said, I know it's late, so I won't cry if nobody wants to play...)?

Goody Smile The R1. It's getting new meat today, but I should have it scrubbed in by then (yeah, I know, sorry about being stuck on pavement...honest, I'll get a dual-sport Real Soon Now).

Ooh! Just saw the new Duc HyperMotard at Eastside. If I could conceive of a use for it that the R1 doesn't already provide, I'd be in trouble. I'm going to have a tougher time staying away from a KLR or DRM.

Hi there.  I found this forum recently, and finally signed up to discuss Puget area rides.  If folks are going on a Canal run, I might be able to join, is that the plan?  I live in Kitsap county, so I could meet up somewhere on this side.

Lemme know!

So, as a frinstance -- and bear in mind I have a geography degree so I have little concept of distances, direction, or terrain -- how about some of the TE's along DH52 (Widbey Island and thereabouts). Liiiike...start at Clinton, go down around the South end of the island, up through Bayview, around Holmes harbor, around Smugglers' Cover road, yadda yadda to Oak Harbor, and down 525 back to Clinton.

In the DH's inimitable language, however, it appears this place is heavily patrolled?
