I am going to be going through Austin, staying with my brother in Georgetown, on my south.  I want to reshoe before going into Mexico.  I will be riding a KLR 650.  90/90-21 front, 130/80-17 rear.  Any recommendations on tire shops in the area?

You might try calling ahead to Central Texas Powersports between Round Rock and Georgetown or Woods Cycle in Austin. Only 2 dealers in Austin I've dealt with. Both are located on I35.

CTPS as mentioned above, many seem to be happy with their work. I wouldn't let Woods work on anything.

And, CTPS has some great prices on tires! I believe they advertise lowest prices in central Texas. Ask for Chris Fox. He'll fix you up!

I did call CTPS and they didn't have the tires I wanted.  they just had Anakees for the KLR.  I decided to ship some tires to my brothers house.  He said he knew where to get them mounted.  If not I'll mount them myself.

You know I have been checking the show unread posts most days and this is the first day this thread showed up.  Sorry for the delayed response but thanks for the replies.

I get all my work done at CTPS, they treat me very well. I got a decent tire for about $60 and mounted free with my service plan. The tire is a Kenda K657, nothing special, but not bad in the rain and average in the corners. They have a huge selection and are very pleasant to work and chat with. They are closed Sunday and Monday. 512-948-9922
