If you hear any more about this, please let me know.  I recieved an email from a family friend and the motorcyclist in the accident was my classmate in High School (all 13 of the class of 89).   Sad

I saw him briefly a couple of years ago, but we haven't kept in touch at all.

I found a Wolf Creek pass near the town of Del Norte, which I assume is the location talked about in the article.

I recieved some more info today.  Sounds like he is doing okay, they had to amputate his leg a little above the knee.   Sad  He will be in the hospital a week and then go back to AZ for therapy.

As long as there is life, there is hope, but that is going to be a tough one to recover from.

Thanks, I could make it to Denver over a weekend.  But the news was too late for this weekend, and next weekend my Dad is having surgery on his back and I am the acting caregiver.  (mom passed away 17 years ago)  I have also blown most of my vacation on motorcycle rides.  Embarassment

I have recieved a note from another friend in Denver that things are going well.

Sorry to read about your friend. I know that snow shed I think its the same one I went thru on Monday on my way home. Its an incresing radius turn and caught me by surprise.

Boy I know that exact turn....the "avalanche slide" tunnel. It is very tricky reducing radius....the center of that turn is quite sharp, as it is the kink in the avalance shoot,  sorry to hear about your friend.
