...or... ignore the stupid weathermen.  50% chance of rain, meant 50% chance of dry.

Headed north on 9  - the day stated out with good portents- a Kaiser helmet-wearing Harley dude gave me a head pat, 1/2 mile before 2 state troopers.  Then, I saw an Aerial Atom.  No shit.  I waved at the driver and passenger - after all, they were wearing helmets.   Bigsmile

Took off east on Old Day Creek Road, just south of Sedro-Wooley - connected to the South Skagit Highway, then up to Concrete for lunch.  Met Harry, a retired architect, at the deli parking lot - he rode in from B-ham on his Honda Elite 250.  He recently off-loaded his 70's BMW R60, and is in the market for a ST bike.  So we sat and chatted bikes and northwest living over sandwiches, then headed our separate ways.

headed south on the Concrete-Swauk Valley road -

Geology Geek picture - Glaciers and lakes and floods, oh my!

Washington, where we cut down really big trees...

...and dedicate them to dead people...

A bit of the road - combo of sweepers and tight corners on a narrow, clean 2-lane.

South end of the road...

Had so much fun on it, turned around and rode it 2x more...

Headed south to Darrington, then back up and down 9 to catch other random side roads.

Oh yeah, and the Corner of Doom (tm)...

50%.  Whatever.

Nice ride.  Not too big, not too small.  Just right.  How fast did you take the corner of doom this time  Lol   I'm sure it has much better traction now.

Much better traction, but cars in the way both times I took it southbound, so wasn't able to push through like I would have liked - plenty of other similar turns throughout the day, though.

Had plenty of gravel experience on Finn Settlement/Lake Cavanaugh Road, though - got lured in on fresh oil, only to find recent resurfacing and gravel a mile in, so went tottering about on what would have been a nice little stretch of road.

200 mi day overall.
