I am going to be in Las Vegas, Oct 11 - 14  Thursday night late thru Sunday afternoon.

I want to rent a bike and ride off to ride some roads and see some sights.

My questions are basic....

What is your must see top 3 list away from the city.

Any recomendations of a rental place beyond the two I found.

Hoover Dam is pretty cool but really, really busy.

How far do you want to go? Mojave is not that far and is really cool (I think anyway) as is Death Valley. Those are both day rides though.

enjoy,

I think a 400 or so mile day would make a good goal.

There is some good riding just out of the city (15-30 mins):

HWY 159 through the Red Rock Canyon area.

HWY 157, 156, 157 loop through Mt. Charleston is a cool ride too.

I've rented from Eaglerider and was very satisfied with the bike and service.

+1 on Hoover Dam, but as atypical said expect slow going over Hoover Dam propper due to traffic.

If you need any info on Vegas let me know.  I lived there for a short while and still visit friends and casinos regularly.

You could do Valley of Fire + Zion. Lots of slab, but probably worth it if you've never been to Zion. There's a longish section of 15 that goes through a canyon on the way that is super cool at triple digits.  Lol

I was out there in June with my family for vacation.  A ride out to Mt Charleston would be good.  Here a view of the road that heads up the mountain.

Zion is a really nice park to visit but it's two hours of slab to get there, though by October the crowds should be thinning out some.
