First of all, I gotta thank anonymous black Speed Triple guy and anonymous cruiser guy who independently gave me the "pat on top of the head" gesture to warn me about LEO's on California Highway 36 yesterday.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.   Hail

I hope that I gave some of that karma back when I made the same warning gesture to yellow GSXR guy on Interstate 5 today.   Thumbsup

Once again, I ride by Mount St. Helens and there is visible smoke rising from the center like the devil's own bonfire.  No one else seems worried.   EEK!

How come no one ever spells out "Saint" in Mt. St. Helens?  I've never seen it spelled out.  Ever.

Southern Oregon, line of five cars and one red bike doing 82 in a 65.  LEO on the right side of the road pulls out, picks off a Camry in the middle.  Why that car?  Was their number up in the great performance award lottery?  Did the LEO once get dumped by a woman who owned a Camry so that was the car with the three cherries?  Great mystery of life.

If it's possible to judge by the material things we have, from San Francisco to Seattle we are one long strip of nice homes, new cars, big RV's, shiny boats on trailers, strip malls with Best Buys and Jamba Juices and gigantic freakin' Fred Meyer stores and Wal-Marts.  My mother's cats and dogs eat better than people in Africa (seriously).  Truly, we are rich almost beyond belief.  It borders on the grotesque.

And now, I'll have another glass of wine.   Beerchug

Oh, and Erik, you were right about taking the R11S instead of the Tuono.   Bigok

I haven't been checking in enough lately, Nathan.  You must be trying to spend as much time on the road as Colleen.  Well, more power to ya.  And yes, wine does tend to make one more intellectual and introspective.

And better looking.

Sounds fun Nathan, of course I'd be more impressed if you did the trip on the LX 50 or 150  Wink

Lol  Well, Erik didn't suggest riding a scooter.  Just told me to take the BMW.

And my trip to California was just that, a trip rather than a vacation.  Left Seattle about 4 on Wednesday after a full day at work and rode from Seattle to Medford Oregon; got in about 12:15.

Spent Thursday working in my mom's yard, slabbed it to San Francisco on Friday to hang with the out-laws.

Sunday left Marin County about 9:30, rode up 101 to Fortuna, made a right, did the 36/3/299 holy trinity to Redding (the hottest place in the world) and hence to Medford:  About 550 miles.

Monday, slab back to Seattle with a very small detour for some twisties.  About 450 miles.

So there are no pictures.  I never took the camera out of the hard luggage!  No one wants to see pictures of me anyway...just imagine a wiry, sort of anonymous middle-aged man without much hair, but a nice red BMW, and that's me.  Bigsmile

Of course we want to see pictures.  I think that you're underestimating just how good-looking your BMW is!   Lol
