How many miles do police RT's go before being replaced and sold to the public?  How many years does that take?  I'm just wondering how long it will be before the used R1200RT-P's will start to get sold off.

I have seen a couple at Mortons BMW with 60K on them, dont know about the time frame. I would guess 2 years no more than 3.

The artist formerly known as mbspeed bought a couple of Kawasaki 1000's at auction.  But I don't know how many miles they had.  You might try asking Mark.

All the ones I've ever seen for sale, either in person or on the Internet, have had around 60K.  I'm also guessing that would take between two and three years, depending on where they are located and the type of service they see (city or rural use).

I've seen a few of these go fairly quickly on Craigslist lately.  Miles usually range between 40-60k and around 3 years old.  I've been considering picking one up as a commuter and for longer distance rides.  I think a police bike would compliment my current black/blue gear out on the interstate.   Wink  ...or at least make a few more people see a rider that normally may not.
