Anyone know of a reliable mechanic in the DFW area that doesnt charge an arm and a leg like the dealers for repairs?   Headscratch

I have a 2000 BMW R1100R.

Thanks
Jo

They use to be the BMW motorcycle dealership in Fort Worth, now running as stand alone shop.

I've actually been there before.  They are good but charge similar prices to dealers.

Just general stuff like tire replacement and maybe an oil change.  Nothing major.

I went ahead and had to take my bike in for the tire change but it would still be nice to find someone reliable for future needs.

we have tech days every now and then, everyone gets together and dose tires, oil, shocks, just the basics. i can let you know when we do one you can come out and just hang out if you would like.

If you are not a member of TWT. (two wheeled Texans) come on over I know there are some on here that are on there.

No I'm not currently a member of TWT but that sounds great.  I know I need to learn more about general maintenance on my bike and I'd rather learn hands on with someone watching me.  Otherwise I'll mess it all up.  Razz

just look for something about tech day from myself or DFW Warrior. most of the ones at his place are for all bike, people, things, just watch out for Squeaky, she can not change her oil without making a mess.

Been happy w/ Cyclewerkz in FtW.  Their prices are fair.  They can get you a tire in a day and their prices were actually cheaper than some internet sites.  Install was $25.  Yeah, check the twtex.com site.

Also, I'd think the local BMW club would have a tech. day.  Someone is bound to have a tire changer?
