So. Much. Simile. So. Much. Hyperbole. So. Much. Analogy. Head. Spins.

Quote
After a rush hour commute from Irvine to Ojai co-tester Kevin commented that, “The only thing that windscreen is good for is throwing into the ocean.  At least there you can use it to scoop water onto yourself to cool down.  This thing pumps out a lot of heat, maybe more than the FJR or ST1300… and that’s a lot.”

That's all I needed to know.

Yes bummer to hear about the heat.  I thought it would be cooler than the FJR.  Also went to look at it at the local Dealer and found out it only comes in silver for now.  No black. For some reason I thought you could get it in black.

Oh well nice looking silver and I will probably get this thing after test driving the FJR to be sure.

I've seen the Metallic Diablo Black pictured in CycleWorld but the local dealer says maybe in September when the manufacturers put out the new models

Other sources report no rider heat issues...

I've read many online ride reports that mention heat.  The well paid rags with a huge C14 ad spread across pages 1 and 2 may not mention it...but riders do.

After 700 miles on ours, I can report that yes, it does warm your feet.  I find it much less noticeable than the FJR, which dumped its heat on my thighs.  I do not consider it to be a big deal.

The screen can be improved upon.  It is better than the "touring" screen I have on my Triumph Tiger, but not as good the FJR.

By the way: the bags are the same on both sides, and will easily take my size XL lid.

And, as the skipper said:

This is all I need to know.

Quote
Kawasaki has had 20-plus years to get the 2008 Concours 14 right and it shows.  This is one of the most comprehensive, thoroughly thought out, and successfully executed bikes we’ve reviewed.  Epochal, the reborn Concours 14 is a fine balance between opulent comfort, exceptional handling, prodigious power and sporting sense.  Some would worry that moving to a sport-touring bike is a sign of giving up your youth, instead given the Kawasaki Concours 14’s prowess it feels like you’re extending it… across continents.

Now I just need some money and a way to drop 100 lbs off it and I'll have my next bike.
