I was just reading this thread on the Wildguzzi forum.

http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=13162.0

Unbelieveable flooding in Minnesota and at the national guzzi rally.

The thread highlights just how close knit the guzzi community is.

Best wishes to local citizens and Guzzisti.

Wow!   Some of the pictures are amazing.   Trailers and trucks up in the trees.    So far, it sounds like all of the Rally attendees are OK, but some very close calls....  cutting a guy out of a tent as it floated away.  EEK!

And more rain tonight.    Crazy

Another tragedy in Minnesota, so soon after the bridge collapse. 6 confirmed dead in the flooding east of the rally, mostly people washed off the road.  Embarassment

The report that Rushford was 85% destroyed sounds horrible.  What a gorgeous little town.  Sad

My heart goes out to all the riders and their families, and to the residents of the Houston and Rushford areas. The local TV stations have not mentioned any rally at Money Creek, only that the roads in and out of Houston are all closed. I've attended a BMW Rally held at the same campground in June a few times in years past. It's a wonderful rally venue, or it was the last time I visited.

I just moved to a place across the river in Vernon County (Wisconsin), and most of our back roads are closed, too. More rain is predicted for later today for both sides of the river.

Flat 4 Tour was this weekend. We rode to Winona, MN on Saturday, rain all day. On Sunday morning we found out the whole area was flooded, all the roads were closed, only one road was open to get out of town that went to I-90. So then Sunday we rode I-90 in the rain all day from SE MN to Chicago.  I’m just glad we weren’t camping.

Some places got as much as 15" of rain  EEK!

YIKES!  EEK!

At first, I saw the thread title and was going make some inane joke about - "Yeah, a Guzzi rally, I'd call that a disaster..." but then I read the stories surrounding this mess and I figured that would way too insensitive.

Good grief, what a thing.

Oh man..... I'm just glad that it seems there were no fatalities among the rally attendees. That's just spooky seeing that huge trailer up in a tree.  Sad Sad Sad Sad

it was incredible! the entire Guzzi demo fleet was under 8 feet of water! the camp restaurant had water to the ceiling, dozens of motorcycles were washed down stream and totaled. personally I lucked out cause my wife didn't want to hang around all day in the rain so we packed up and got out early or I could have lost 3 bikes and a car with trailer.
heres the demo fleet on a beutiful friday afternoon,

by the way, the club started a relief fund for those who lost stuff. there were some BIG losses but the fund will instead be sent to the campground since there insurance won't cover nearly enough. the Guzziologists are AWESOME! you'll never find a better group of real people!

Is there a donation link over on wildguzzi? I haven't been over there in a bit and I'm also broke as a joke, but I should be able to scrape something together to help out with.
