...My main rule is "do no harm", as in the move I make shouldn't make a reasonable person have to touch the brakes. ...

Sounds like he stopped pretty fast, so probably not.
Think again, the orginal post specified
damp and drippy day
so he alsmost assuredly had ABS. Or else he woulda rear ended that car.

A. I thought there was a restraining order prohibiting you from typing "those letters"?
B. If he stopped that short, he sure as shit wasn't on an FJR.

On the way home last night, I needed to make a right turn into another large parkway. The turn was a merging lane (you don't stop, just keep going and finish turning into the next parkway).
Well, me and a dozen other commuters needed to make the same right turn. So, there was a long cue to turn. The line was tightly packed but moving smoothly. Then, at the last minute 3 other bozos decided THEY needed to make a right turn at the last minute. So all three proceeded to squeeze themselves into the cue right at the turn. To make matters worse, the idiot out in front of the cue decided she had to STOP as she was turning because she's too stupid to just merge like she's suppose to.
The result: a major cluster-fuck! Everyone had to slam on their brakes so hard, I thought my car was going to do a stoppie!
Then get this, one of the three bozos making a right turn at the last minute then squeezed themselves into the cue, she decided she actually did NOT need to make the right turn. So she jumped out of the right turn lane into oncoming traffic!
This happens several times a week during my commute.
Mother fookers!
So you know what, if one motorcyclist made you slam on your brakes....that is nothing compared to how many other times I had to slam on my brakes because of some asswhipe driving a car/SUV. Or a group of asswhipes! This includes speed Nazi's!

Yes, there's a restraining order. Someone get the cuffs.

Well, it's a good thing you're more afraid of going to jail than
killing
someone
Carl

Must be nice to have enough control over conditions that you can clip a bike on the freeway and know for a fact that you'll
only
maim
the rider.
I understand about the smokes though. My parents both went through it and I thought the cops were going to be dropping by
Still though please try to relax a little. We don't want to be reading about you in the news
