This is another reminder to be fully aware of the intersection you're about to go through.  Expect that they won't stop or see you coming.

Did that cagetard just get out and instantly get on his cellphone?  Notice how he was going over the centerline while approaching the intersection, and jerked back slightly before entering.  He was probably texting or playing Tetris.

When I approach a long unoccupied or traffic free light like this...I watch out for Darwintards like this.  If you aren't in a long line of vehicles going through a light OR see cars stopped at a light...fear for you life as you pass through because crap like this can happen.

Yeah, but how the HELL did that biker not see that coming a mile away. His front end didn't dive; he didn't hit the brakes. WTF???

I wasn't sure if it had been or not, But it is a good reminder for us heading home tonight to be careful.

I really thought (my 1st time seeing it) that it was a stunt with a dummy the way that guy rag dolled, till his arms started moving

To the driver's credit, he wasn't on the cell phone when he first exited the car. He went back into his car get it, presumably to call 911.

He clearly ran the red though. It looks like the scooter rider's vision was totally blocked by a building on the corner, hence no brakes applied.

Regardless, I hope the rider is OK. This kind of video is a great reminder to us all: Cagers don't pay attention.

Wow!

It is sobering to watch such scenes because cagers don't look for bikes, nor do they lose when they ram a bike.  I will pray for the life of the scooter-rider.  I also wish the rider had been paying more attention as his life is now in the rags - regardless of who was at fault.  
Keep on the lookout.

Mystery friend:  No way!  Is he okay?
Asshat driver:  I dunno man, he flew like 15' in the air and then landed on my windshield.
Mystery friend: Gnarly.
Asshat driver:  I'm bummed about my car though.  And my nose is bleeding 'cuz the airbag went off.  
Mystery friend: So how'd it happen?
Asshat driver:  I dunno.  I looked up from texting my girlfriend and from the corner of my eye, I see this scooter comin' at me!  
Asshat driver:  The guy is movin' a little now.  I guess he's alright.

He wasn't stil on his cell phone.  He went out to see what's up and then went back into the car for the phone presumably to call for help.

Ahh... I missed that the first time. I see he wanders to the back of the car then reaches in for the phone. The guy walking by distracted me from seeing him get out the first time. Some witness I would make.....

I came very close to getting pegged in a similar way not too long ago.  I pulled into an intersection when the light turned green and a cage nearly hit me as she blew the light while changing lanes.  She was far enough away that I didn't percieve a threat from her until late, and dropped anchors halfway through the intersection.  She didn't even swerve, slow down or anything.  Fortunately, she got stopped at the next light so I got off the bike right next to her, tapped on the window, and gave her a pretty good spooking.  I wasn't going to do anything besides tell her to get off the phone and pay attention, but she thought I was some kind of homocidal maniac.  I hope she was bright enough to put two and two together and get four, but who knows.
