...survive a trip through the washing machine? I mean the KIPASS fob, of course.

How about through the dryer?

Post your KIPASS torture test qustions and answers here. Nothing outlandish like What if an astronaut accidentally takes his fob into space.... just stuff that might really happen, say like if it's in your swimming trunks when you get attacked by a shark. Will the fob still work if it's retrieved? What if the shark gets it and then a fisherman catches the shark. Can the fisherman steal your bike, or will the shark digest it?

Just wondering.   Bigsmile

I have heard of one fellow who ran his transponder thru the washer. He took the lid off, let it dry out, and it worked ok.

I just found out last night that Harley-Davidson V-Rods have had a similar system for a couple of years now. My friend says he likes it.  Shrug

I had one go thru the wash without incident... so far.. and another guy who forgot his when he went swimming, found it at the bottom of the pool.. He wasn't as lucky... I believe it was a goner. You just have to train yourself.. and always put it in its "safe place".  It works great so far, today KIPASS is a good thing.  Rolleyes

see you on the road,

Huh?   Headscratch  Did he have the fob stuck down in his junk, or does he swim in his riding gear. Lol

Do you know how much it costs to replace?

I dunno Skipper... I think he was riding in shorts... and then jumped in his pool. I guess he realized later what he had done, and when he couldn't find it.. they found it in the bottom of the pool.

And no I'm not sure how much to replace a FOB. I know if you lose both of them you are  Twofinger
You have to replace the ECU's. Probably a couple grand. But really if you lose both of them before you replace the first lost one.. Its almost like natural selection... you really dont belong on a bike like that... Its mother nature's way of saving your stupid arse.

Like I said... I like KIPASS... today.

It might be a good idea to keep the thingie in a tiny zip lock bag as a first line of defense.

Yet another answer to a question nobody asked.  Keys work and they're cheap.  And apparently you still need a key on the 1400 if you want to get to your luggage anyways   Headscratch
