Wow..... just wow.....
Paul Peloquin is a FJR rider from Oregon. He has set up an blog where he can call in and leave an audio podcast. He's been updating it since he left.
What I find intriguing - only because I've BTDT - is his very first podcast. If you want to hear the voice of IBR fatique, IBR demoralization and despair, listen to this:
http://paulpeloquin.blogspot.com/2007/08/audio-moblog_21.html
Check out the inflection in his exhausted voice as he describes the level of effort needed to remove his gloves at a gas station.... I have felt the very same anguish and despair. Hearing this in near real-time from an IBR rider who is currently out on the road brings back a lot of haunting memories from when I competed in this same event 10 years ago.

My hats off to anyone who competes in the Rally, let alone finishes. My SS1k took me 3 days to fully recover from and that's just the "entry level" of long distance riding.
Here's a hope and a prayer to Paul and all the rest of the competitors in the IBR. A prayer that they all survive the ordeal and live ride many more days!
Thanks for the post WC.

I am following the star-traxx closely - I really have tons of respect for these guys as well. Having rune a few 24 hour events - I cannot imagine how they are feeling now into day4. The accumulation of fatigue has to be getting to them, and I hope they don't start making dumb mistakes. I wonder if the guys that went south and stayed drier will be stronger in the days to come, even if they don't get the big points.
I am looking forward to the boni post so i can enter them into S&T and plot out various routes.
Although I know I probably never will ride it, I am loving the fact that several guys I know are.
Is someone going to post a poll handicapping the winner before the first leg is done?

The link works if you paste it, but clicking it in your post goes back to the same thread.
BTW, he seems to have adapted and conquered the fatigue and sounds in good spirits in the later recordings.
