Love the belt... but you can have the rest... V2s are dead and buried as far as I gather in the world of racing...

' V 2's dead ' . . . who cares about the world of racing - I buy a bike to ride, I imagine at least 95 % of all bikes sold never see a track. and V twins are great street bike engines - good power curves, look good, sound good . . . . this bike - I love the specs ( assuming the 5.6 gal is not a misprint) - I'd rather have longer w'base, standard rad. than those side scoops, but other than that . . .

You can't see it when you are riding it. If the motor and chassis dynamics are right, it will be a terriffic bike. It is great to see Buell moving away from the boat anchor 45 degree pushrod Harley motor.

This is only new for Buell and H-D.....the rest of the free world has had this technology and better since the 70's. I'd still take a nicely equipped SV1000S and ii'd still have enough left over to get the accessorries I need.

I'd still take a nicely equipped SV1000S and ii'd still have enough left over to get the accessorries I need. The difference is that the SV1000S is a conventional, uninspiring, common motorcycle. The 1125R is a fresh, original look at what a road biased sport motorcycle should be. It´s ugly but i love it for what it is. If the 1125R is correctly priced in my country, its buils quality is up to normal european standards, and the engine has enough V-twin character it can be my next motorcycle.

Interesting since the Buell likely possesses numerous technological advances over the SV1000. I own an SV, and I really like it, but it is no technological marvel. The Buel belt drive appears to be superior to the chain drive by virtually every real world measure. Sounds like they are on the cutting edge in that area at least.

That's actually a nice engine. But the bike is bone ugly from the front. Dealbreaker ugly.

Then don't buy one. Me, I think it's kind of cute—in a Jane Fonda/Arnold Schwarzenegger kind of way.

It'll be interesting to see how they come out of corners compared to the Thunderstorm. It has 2 ft. lbs less torque than an XB12, and it produces that at 8000 rpm compared to the 3000 rpm of the Thunderstorm. Is this another bike to frustrate the XB racers (no match out of a corner but dominant on a straight) or will the vacuum assisted slipper clutch make the difference between the X1125R and the rest of the competition?

I really haven't read much at all about this bike. What's the reason Eric decided to use a different engine? It was just a few years ago he was so passionate about keeping the much simpler, more than efficient air cooled lump.
