I've always wanted to like Buell.  Now I have a reason to.  I had hoped it would be a bit more sport-touring, but that's just me.  I'm sure they know the market.

Geez, Porsche helps with the V-Rod, Rotax with the Buell.  What next?  Harley acceptability on ST.N?

Go Eric!

I do not like the scoops or front end one bit. I bet it's a nice bike though apart from the fugly. I hope it all comes off without too much trouble.

I like it. A lot. Too much, perhaps...

421 lbs. without fuel.  So probably 450 lbs with fuel.

That is light for a liter class, liquid cooled bike.  I noticed they went with hydraulic clutch this time.  It's going to be tough convincing the wife I "need" this bike.   Wink Bigsmile

Very positive review for Buell.  Nice to see for a change.  I'm hoping Buell scores big with this bike.  On paper, this is exactly the bike I'm looking for.  I have very mixed feelings about the looks though.  Over on Badweatherbikers.com there are a lot of people justifying the performance of the bike and not too concerned about the looks.  I don't know.  For me a bike purchase is one of passion.  If I can't get into the looks of a bike, it becomes hard to be "passionate" about it.  Time will tell.  I've read a lot of reports that it looks better in the flesh.

I hear you on the looks.  I too can't get myself to like a bike that looks ugly to me.  I fell in love with the Firebolt's looks back in 2002 so that wasn't an issue.  Although, I don't have a problem with the 1125R's looks either.  Not in love with it but don't think it's ugly.  I think with brighter colors like silver, blue, or metallic grey, with offsetting lighter colored wheels its looks will improve to me.

The black on "Diamond Blue" frame and wheels does give the bike a sinister look.  Very stealthy.  I think stealthy is good.

I agree with you on the Firebolt.  1st time I saw it, I loved it.  Can't say the same about this bike.
