Wow...that's crazy mileage. Congrats on that milestone. Makes me feel bad that I only have 43000 on my 93 750 and I thought that was fairly high miles.

Nothing special concerning maintenance; just very religious about oil changes. And I only use Motul 300V 10-40 full synthetic.

But it does have a couple expensive parts that fail regularly.
I'm not including items such as chains, sprockets, wheel bearings, my fat a$$ wearing out stock fork springs, or self inflicted damaged such as road debris poking a hole in the radiator.

1) It's on it's 4th stator. -- they cost about $150 each -- first one was under warranty; hence free.
2) It's on it's 3rd STV actuator. -- they cost about $450 each.
3) AND it has a (free to me) replacement frame. Because a jackass backed into it in a parking lot and cracked the original frame.

Actually that was 28500 miles per year for 7 years.  
(I've slacked off since then. 2008 = new job = no vacation and shorter commute. 2009 = unemployed.)

I am impressed.  Just completed trip #5 to BC, back and forth, and have only 91,000+ kilometres.

Do you have a long commute to work?  

I ask because the only person I know with high 'mileage' uses his bike as his daily commuter, from outside of the city.

I've had multiple commutes with this bike:

'00 through '02 = 65 miles each way; from Califon, NJ into midtown Manhattan NYC.
(Almost all interstate and city driving. A lot of lane splitting and filtering in NYC and at Hudson river crossings.)
(For a while after 9/11; only motorcycles were allowed in downtown NYC and through the Holland Tunnel.)

'03 through '06 = 45 miles each way; from Califon, NJ to Princeton NJ.
(All two lane roads that I have known all my life.)

'06 through '07 = ~95 miles each way; from Allentown, PA to Princeton NJ.
(This was the most enjoyable commute; all two lane back roads for at least 3 hours; but usually closer to 4 hours; per day. )
(On very rare occasions I had to work in Manhattan. I-78 the whole way. Boring ; and very cold during the winter. )


'07 through '08 = 55 miles each way; from Allentown, PA to Horsham, PA.
'09 = no commute = unemployed.

It's an electronic motor in a black box that adjusts the positioning of the second set of throttle valves (butterflies) in the air intake according to gear positions and engine rpm.

I'm flying home to repair the engine on my 00 bandit 600.  after 10,000 miles on my one month road trip, a spark plug shimmied itself loose and took the threads in the head with it.  Not knocking suzuki reliability, it's my own fault for not maintaining the bike properly.

I expect to get another 50k out of it once the head's back on.    3 yrs of sitting though, i'm really hoping the thing still fires up, don't feel like rebuilding carbs while i'm home.

Congrats on rolling over 200k.  Send it to honda, make them cry that their korean counterpart does it as well as they do

I'd contact suzuki.   Good chance their engineers would love to see this engine.   And they may get you a new engine if they do.  

I have heard of GM doing this to a Caddy Limo driver in Florida.  He had 450,000 miles on the original engine.

I swear the temperature in the Holland Tunnel never drops below 80 degrees; even in the winter.
And the GW Bridge is COLD during the Winter.
Also; watch riding on the Pulaski Skyway. If you go down you WILL be run over.

But it was fun riding in on Sundays when there is no traffic. Especially during the Fall when the winds pick up.
Those crosswinds at intersections are FUN !

Nope; still on same Stator and actuator it had at 200k.

I am planning to change the wheel bearings this weekend.
This will be the third time for new wheel bearings since buying the bike new in 2000.

You should have no problem reaching 200 on your Busa.

Did you just want to keep it stock or does it not work well with the 750? I have a 1250 bandit and it helped alot when I remove them. Also how often do you get your valves adjusted?

Besides; I tend to keep my vehicles mostly stock.

In 250k; the valves have been checked 4 times.
Only needed very minor adjustments twice.
(ie. in 1 exhaust valve still in spec but not matching the others.)

Wow, that's very few Valve checks for the amount of miles. I had my current Suzuki's valves checked at 15k, then 40k. I may wait until 80k for the next, as not a single one was out of spec. Of course with my luck, if I don't check them on schedule...

That's mainly the reason I removed them in my 1250. With them in it really flattens out at about 7.5k rpm and beyond, after removal will rev to redline (9.5k) much harder without flattening out. I'm not sure why they have them in the first place, must be a noise or to meet tail pipe emissions thing..

You pretty much have to after 30k, since nobody wants to buy a sportbike with "high mileage."    Everyone knows that mc engines blow up b/w 30 and 40k.
